Taffy came to us from a shelter after being found on the streets. The staff at the shelter reach out almost immediately because they knew she was terrified, and her future was in jeopardy. A quick decision was made to bring her in even though Taffy has something else besides GSP in her.
She is three years old and looking for her forever home! It is clear that Taffy (formerly known as Trouble) has had a troubled past, but she is sweet as pie and will make a great dog for the right family. We suspect abuse (she has the scars to prove it) played a huge hand in her past and the way she presented initially. She was very reactive in the shelter and in her first foster home but has really blossomed in training.
She has spent a couple of months (135 days now) with Marty at Kanupp Kennels and has grown from scared and reactive to absolutely cuddly with the people she trusts. She knows all obedience commands. Marty and his fabulous staff will work with Taffy's forever family to make sure she is successful in her forever home. Taffy would make a great companion for someone with anxiety or depression and loves to be one on one with people and to feel safe. We know she could make you feel safe. Taffy didn’t have that before SEGSP took her in and she deserves a happy ever after. We know Taffy has the perfect home out there!!
From Taffy herself: I am looking for some very specific things in my forever home so that I feel safe and comfortable. Most importantly, I am looking for a home with no children, no other dogs, and I prefer women for human companions. That's the hard stuff. Here is the easy stuff. I want a place where I can lounge outside in the sun. I want a future with plenty of belly rubs and a house with my own cozy space. I love peanut butter and milk bones ! Peanut butter and milk bones are my everything. Unlike some dogs my age, I don't destroy bedding or toys. It is very important, given the fact that I have endured some abuse in my past, that my family takes everything slowly with me. Give me some time and I will be your best and most loyal friend. I am healthy, spayed, and up to date on vaccines (and trained to boot!) so my $375 adoption fee is a deal! I know my special forever home is out there.
Are you my unicorn?! If so, please fill out an adoption application if you haven't already and email Sarah at email@example.com
