Meet Baker, an 8-year-old, 50-pound male German Shorthaired Pointer in Clinton, Tennessee. Baker is an older gentleman who loves his people and would thrive with someone who can give him plenty of attention, companionship, and room to enjoy life.
Baker is house-trained, crate-trained, and has completed basic obedience training. He knows sit, come, and stay. He is often described as being very attentive and always on alert. He prefers spending time with his humans rather than with other dogs.
Most importantly, Baker needs a home without young children. He has shown aggressive behavior toward younger children, particularly in response to their quick movements. For his safety and the safety of children, his family is looking for an adult home or a home with older, dog-savvy children who can respect his boundaries. Baker has no known bite history.
Baker otherwise gets along well with people and other animals. His ideal home would be somewhere with plenty of space to run and explore, along with a person or family who wants a devoted companion and can give him lots of one-on-one attention.

Baker does have a fatty tumor on his front right leg, which has been evaluated by his veterinarian multiple times. His family will provide veterinary records, and his vet is Clinton Animal Hospital in Clinton, Tennessee.
His vaccinations are not currently up to date, but his family is willing to bring him current.
Baker was originally obtained from Proper Pointers in Six Mile, South Carolina. The breeder has been contacted twice but has not responded.
Baker is looking for someone who understands his needs and will appreciate an older, loyal GSP who simply wants to be close to his person. The right home for Baker will be one where he can feel secure, receive plenty of attention, and enjoy his days with room to stretch his legs.
