🐾 RANGER — HIGH-ENERGY 4-YEAR-OLD GSP LOOKING FOR HIS FOREVER HOME! 🐾
📍 Simpsonville, South Carolina
📧 [email protected]
Meet Ranger, a handsome 4-year-old, 50-pound male German Shorthaired Pointer who is looking for an active home where he can run, play, and stay busy.
Ranger's family recently moved from living on land to living in the city. Because of that change, they recognize that their energetic GSP needs a lifestyle with more room and activity than they can now provide.
🐶 ABOUT RANGER
  • Breed: German Shorthaired Pointer
  • Age: 4 years
  • Weight: Approximately 50 lbs
  • Gender: Male
  • Neutered: No
  • Heartworm prevention: Has been on Simparica Trio since puppyhood
  • Vaccinations: Not currently up to date
  • Medical issues: None known
  • Crate-trained: Yes
  • Bite history: None
  • Location: Simpsonville, SC
Ranger has never had a veterinary visit, so his new owner should plan to establish veterinary care and bring him current on vaccinations and routine preventive care. His current owner reports that he has been maintained on Simparica Trio since he was a puppy.
❤️ RANGER'S PERSONALITY
Ranger is very high-energy, loyal, and always ready to go!
This boy has an enormous amount of enthusiasm and loves having something to do. He is happiest when he can run, play, explore, and spend time with his people.
And if you like to play fetch, Ranger may be your dream dog! 🎾
He can play fetch for hours.
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 KIDS & OTHER ANIMALS
Ranger is good with children and other dogs.
However, because of his tremendous energy, his family feels that a home with teenagers or adults would be a much better fit.
He is not aggressive toward young children, but even his family's nearly 7- and 8-year-old children have difficulty managing his energy.
Ranger should not be placed with cats or birds due to his prey drive.
🎓 TRAINING
Ranger is crate-trained.
He spent most of his early puppyhood living indoors until approximately 9 months old. Since then, he has spent most of his time outside and has only occasionally been brought into the house.
His new family should be prepared to help him transition to a more indoor lifestyle and continue working on his house manners and training.
🌳 RANGER'S IDEAL HOME
Ranger needs a home that understands what it means to live with a high-energy sporting breed.
His ideal family would be:
🏃 Active and outdoors-oriented
🎾 Ready to play and exercise every day
🌳 Able to provide plenty of room to safely run
🧠 Willing to provide continued training and mental stimulation
👨‍🦱 Adults or families with older/teenage children
🐕 Comfortable with an energetic GSP
🚫 A home without cats or birds
A fenced yard would be a tremendous benefit, but most importantly, Ranger needs people who will make exercise, training, play, and companionship a regular part of his life.
❤️ RANGER NEEDS A NEW CHAPTER
Ranger isn't a bad dog — he's simply a very energetic GSP whose current city lifestyle isn't the right fit for him.
He has spent much of his life with room to roam, and his family wants to find him a home where his energy can once again be an asset rather than a challenge.
If you're an active adult or family with older children looking for a loyal, enthusiastic companion who will happily chase a ball until you finally give up, Ranger may be your guy! 🎾🐾
📍 Simpsonville, South Carolina

A rehoming fee of $500 will apply to help ensure a safe and committed forever home.
