​Ruger — Sweet 9-Year-Old German Shorthaired Pointer Looking for a Loving Home
Meet Ruger, a handsome 9-year-old, 80-pound neutered male German Shorthaired Pointer in Hickory, NC. Ruger has been a deeply loved member of his family for the past nine years, and his family is committed to finding him a wonderful home where he can continue to receive the love, attention, and spoiling he deserves.
Ruger is a sweet, calm, and playful guy who loves being around his people. One of his favorite activities is playing fetch, but he is equally happy relaxing and sleeping the day away. He is house-trained and knows his basic commands.
He has done wonderfully with other animals and currently lives alongside another dog, a cat, and chickens, with everyone getting along well. He would do well with an individual or family who has a yard and plenty of time to give him companionship, affection, and attention.
Ruger is neutered, heartworm negative, and current on his vaccinations. He has no known medical conditions requiring medication.
One small quirk to know about Ruger: he doesn't appreciate being told to move when he's comfortably sleeping! Otherwise, his family describes him as a wonderful, loving dog who has been a very special part of their lives.
His family is rehoming him because their circumstances have changed. With a new baby, more frequent travel, and Ruger's person no longer being able to take him to work, they feel he deserves a home where he can receive more of the time and attention he loves.
Ruger's ideal home: An individual or family with a yard who wants a loving, loyal companion and is ready to make him part of the family.
This is a difficult decision for his family, and they are placing finding the right home above simply finding him a home. They hope Ruger's next family will love and spoil him just as much as they have.
