Meet Colt! 💙
Colt is a 7-year-old, 55-pound Australian Cattle Dog/Pointer mix looking for a loving home where he can enjoy a more comfortable and predictable routine.
Colt has been with his current family since he was about 2 years old. He is a friendly, playful, and protective boy who has been a beloved companion for many years. He is house-trained, has good recall, and is up to date on his vaccinations.
His family is making the difficult decision to rehome him because his anxiety has become increasingly difficult for both Colt and his owner. He especially struggles with thunderstorms, and as he has gotten older, his storm anxiety has become more significant. His owner now works outside the home, and being left alone has also become increasingly difficult for Colt.
Colt has no known medical issues and takes no medications. His current family is willing to provide his veterinary records.

The Right Home for Colt
Colt would do best in a home where someone is home much of the day, such as with a retired person, someone who works from home, or a household with a flexible schedule.
An active home with a secure backyard would be a great fit. Most importantly, Colt needs someone who understands his anxiety and can provide patience, companionship, and a predictable routine.
His current owner has worked hard to manage his anxiety over the years, but with Colt's increasing age and his owner's work schedule, they feel that another home may now be better suited to his needs.
Colt has spent five years with the person who loves him, and rehoming him is not a decision being made lightly. His family wants to find someone who can give this sweet, playful boy the companionship and stability he needs in this stage of his life. 💙
