Hi… my name is Nova (FL). Yes, I’m a pretty girl who is half GSP and half Lab (an awesome mix). But inside this beautiful body is a timid, sensitive soul who’s still learning that the world can be safe.
I was rescued from a shelter, and while no one knows exactly what happened in my past, it’s clear it wasn’t easy. I’ll need patience, understanding, and a family willing to help me continue building confidence in my new life.
Now let me tell you all the wonderful things about me…
I’m just 1 year old and a perfect 55 lbs. I love to run, play, and soak up love from my people. At home, I’m actually pretty calm — I adore curling up on the couch or even sleeping in bed with you. Being near my humans makes me feel safe and happy.
Treats? Toys? Squirrel chasing? Yes, please! I’m at my best when I’m having fun and spending time with people I know and trust.
Strangers can be very scary for me. I need slow, thoughtful introductions and space to feel secure. When I get frightened, I sometimes react by lunging, which is scary for everyone — including me. With the right guidance and a patient family who understands my boundaries, I know I can continue to improve.
I really like other dogs, but some bother me, especially if I’m on a leash, but I would thrive with a confident canine sibling to help show me the ropes and ease my nerves around new people. I just want a meet and great first, so I approve of my sibling.  I’m also looking for a home without children, as quick movements and unpredictable noises can overwhelm me.
And here’s more good news… I’m a smart girl!
Crate-trained
House-trained
Know basic commands
Walk nicely on leash
Quick learner
I would love a family who enjoys training and helping me learn new things — building skills really helps build my confidence too.
My current family loves me deeply. This decision hasn’t been easy for them, but they want me to have the very best environment to truly thrive. They believe the right home — one that understands shy, sensitive dogs — will help me blossom into the amazing companion I’m meant to be. I’m still so young. I have so much potential.
If you think you might be my person, please contact Nate at [email protected] to learn more about me.
I can’t wait to find the family who will help me feel safe, loved, and brave.
