Heidi - FL

10/18/2021

Picture
Sweet Heidi is currently with the Lil Rascals Dog Rescue in boarding and needs an adopter URGENTLY.

Unfortunately, beautiful Heidi was returned to The Lil Rascals Rescue because she did not get along with her new fur sibling. There are no available foster homes, so until the rescue can find a foster or adopter, she will be stuck in boarding where she will receive no socialization or proper exercise. This is an unexpected expense for the rescue, but more importantly, long-term boarding will take a huge toll on Heidi’s well-being.

Heidi is approximately 2 years old, 50 lbs, and she is a GSP mix. Heidi loves to be with her people, snuggle and give kisses. She loves children! Because of her size and energy level, we are recommending no small kids who could be accidentally knocked over. It will be best if the home does not have any other pets.

Heidi loves to play tug-of-war and play with toys, especially Nylabones. Heidi is a very smart pup and is food motivated so can learn new things easily. She has worked on her basic commands and has already learned "sit." Heidi is house trained and needs a gentle nudge to go in her crate, but once in there, is quiet and will sleep through the night. Heidi will jump when excited but is easily redirected. She is a work in progress walking on a leash, and is learning not to pull, but Heidi is quite strong so she will need continued training with that. She does very well riding in the car. She loves to run and play in the yard, so we are requiring a secure minimum 5-ft. fenced-in yard for her.

If you live in the central Florida (Orlando) area (so that she is close to the rescue’s resources if needed) and think you have the perfect forever home for Heidi, please apply today at lilrascalsrescue.org/adopt !
