Mowgli - FL

1/22/2023

Picture
It is with a heavy heart that I find myself having to re-home Mowgli.  Mowgli is a purebred GSP and is 1 ½ years old.  I got him September 2, 2022, through the Southeast GSP Rescue (courtesy page) from a couple that also needed to re-home him.

I’ve had years of experience with GSP’s and did not see any issues with me handling another one. Unfortunately, a couple of unforeseen issues came up after I got Mowgli:  Being so young, he is much stronger and more high energy than I expected. Along the same line, I didn’t realize I wasn’t as strong as I was 12 years ago when I rescued Remington who was 1 year old at the time. As a result, he’s had me on the ground a couple of times and am so nervous and concerned the next time might result in me breaking bones. For reasons that I cannot explain at the moment, my backyard which is about ½ - ¾ acres, has had standing water for about 3 months and I cannot get the containment fence working.  This is an entirely new and unexpected problem, and I am going to have to deal with engineers and our HOA to find out what has changed.  When I signed up to get Mowgli, I fully expected that he’d be able to run freely in the entire front and back yard, giving him approx. 1 full acre to romp.  Instead, I’ve been walking him on a leash.  He enjoys it, but he really needs more space to run.

He is a very sweet boy and the typical “Velcro” GSP.  I’ve worked with a trainer in my home, so he does have a little training.  He’s fully housebroken.  At his previous home, he was crate trained, but here, he pretty much has a full run of the house.

A rehoming fee of $300 is required.  Please email me nbraydp@aol.com if interested.
