Hello, my name is Buddy. I am a very loving, goofy, clumsy boy. The vet thinks I’m around two years old. I was found running loose in the streets in North Carolina, but some really nice people helped catch me there, and I’ve been living in Greenville, South Carolina for over a month now with my foster family. I love it. They’ve been teaching me all sorts of new things and they take me to all these fun places. I didn’t really seem to know any commands before, but they’ve been teaching me these cool words like sit, stay, come, and most recently leave it. Come is still a little hard for me some days but I’ve totally mastered leave it and don’t touch my food until they tell me it’s okay. I’m a quick learner, which my foster mom says is because I’m so smart. I am house trained and while I don’t always love being in my crate and away from my people, I am also crate trained.
I have an awesome foster sister and I really, really, really want to have a brother or sister in my forever family. I absolutely love other dogs. They’re the best. Sometimes I can be a little shy, so my foster sister helps show me the ropes. We love to run outside in our yard. It has this thing called a fence. I think I need one of these in my forever home. I like to go outside with my foster sister, and we just hang out. I love to lay in the sun, but since I’m still working on my recall a fenced area is a must have for me. My foster sister and I have a blast together. We love to play tug of war with toys or steal them back and forth from each other, but we never get mad at each other (not even when she steals the ball right out of my mouth). I have my own bed in my foster parent’s bedroom that I sleep on every night, but more recently I started sharing my foster sister’s bed with her. She doesn’t mind and we sleep like that all night.
My foster parents told me I had to be socialized so they take me everywhere with them. I’m getting much better with people in new places, but I can still be a little shy with new people or in new places. My foster parents just give me lots of pats on the head and encourage me through it. I’m great in the car though and love going for long car rides. I haven’t ever met those furry things called cats yet, but I think I’d be okay with them. My foster parents also don’t have those little humans called kids, so I haven’t been around many of those either. I think I’d be fine just so long as they know to be calm around me.
I really would love a family that will spend a lot of time with me. I love, love, love my foster family and know I’ll love my forever family too. I’m pretty chill for a GSP. It’s totally fine with me if I lay around all day with my people. They take me on these things called runs and, on those day, I sleep like a baby afterwards. I like to learn and want to learn more. I really want a family that will help teach me even more. I also really want a family that will be consistent, patient, and love me forever. I’m the sweetest boy and will just lay my head on you and stay right with you all day.
If you’re interested in adopting me, please fill out an adoption application. I’m neutered, UTD on my vaccines and microchipped so my adoption fee is $375. My mom says I’ll be worth every single penny because I am just that sweet.
