SEGSP Rescue Dogs Ready for Adoption
Hi there,
My name is Rocky and I’m a well-seasoned 6-year-old boy! My story is a long one, so I’ll start at the beginning. I was surrendered to the shelter back in March because my owner assumed I was deaf because I didn’t want to hunt. I’m not deaf I just don’t want to hunt! My wonderful foster parents have really shown me the ropes and I think I’m ready for adoption. I do have a few medical conditions, but we will get into that later. Everyone loves me! I’m a very calm and affectionate boy who doesn’t bark, get anxious or agitated. I’ve gained a lot of weight since coming into rescue and am a whopping 58lbs now, but my foster parents have started to watch my diet now. Bummer! We all know I eat well but also have no resource guarding behaviors. I have visited several doggie parks and enjoy meeting other dogs and running around searching out new smells. Another thing I really enjoy is going to bed. When 7:30 or 8pm hits I go into my crate to lie down each night and sleep around 10-11 hours. I have never had an accident in my crate and enjoy eating and treats in my crate. I am house-trained (although any dog in a new environment should be watched until they are comfortable in their new surroundings) and I know how to use a doggie door when I need to go. I really enjoy car rides and I’m learning how to play on my own. I have this yak chew toy that I love to toss into the air and then pounce on it. I have my own toy box I like to explore, and I’ll go and find new toys to play with. Today it was a deer antler! Yum. Have I mentioned I love to eat?! When I get hungry, I’ll jump around and become very vocal when my foster parents are preparing my food. I can’t help it…I love to eat. Now onto my medical conditions. I have something called Seizures and I must take medication two times a day. They are well controlled, but my new home will need to know about seizures and to be able to give me my meds every day. I also had a growth on my eye which turned out to be a mast cell tumor, but I got it removed and got good margins. It has healed very nicely. I would make a great companion for you! Overall, I am a happy, healthy pup who is neutered, HW negative, microchipped and UTD on vaccines. My adoption fee is $375. If you haven’t already, please fill out an adoption application and email my foster parents Gari and Dwight at Gari.Carter@verizon.net Comments are closed.
