Good Day Everyone, my name is Capri which means whimsy & playful. A truly beautiful name for a happy, smiley girl (yes, I’m humble). Some say it’s short for Capricorn, meaning goat. Considering I love to jump on things, perhaps it’s a combination of both definitions. Either way, I think my name is pretty, like me.
I am 5-6 years old, currently in TN, and full of energy but not as much as a young pup – I’m the “perfect” age. I’m crate trained and don’t even tear up a bed like some other young GSPs (we won’t mention names). No accidents in the house so far (probably best to be careful when I’m in a new environment since I might get excited). I’m great with kids and all dogs, including small ones (my 7 lb housemate is mean and bosses me around but I never retaliate).
I’m calmer than most GSPs – why upset this beautiful frame with craziness? I’m a work in progress when it comes to commands so I need a family that is willing to help me learn. A lot. I’m a bit timid of new experiences, like meeting horses, but I will eventually become brave and face my fears – I just need some time.
I’m not perfect (I know it seems that way) and the one thing my foster family dislikes is my counter surfing skills. I’m trying soooooo hard to stop, but when you’re without food for so long like I was before rescue, you just can’t help yourself. I’ll learn. With time.
My foster home has a 4 ft chain link fence and I haven’t tried to jump it. I mean, why would I want to leave when these folks feed me and play with me and give me a soft place to sleep? I also don’t chase their cat in the house (all bets are off outside if the cat runs from me LOL).
I have a bit of a prey drive and that opossum on the other side of the fence just about drove me insane and I wanted to get to the other side to get him, but didn’t. Don’t count on my patience if it’s something tastier than an opossum though. Probably best to always be with me (plus I really like having you there).
I’m a very quiet girl. No barking for me. I prefer to watch and listen. Stealth is stronger in a storm. Did I tell you I’m also a philosopher? LOL! In all seriousness, I’m looking for a forever home that will spend time with me teaching me new things and loving me. And belly rubs. I love belly rubs. Yup, love and belly rubs, that’s what I’m craving.
If you think I’m the one for you, please complete an adoption application (if you haven’t already) and email my adoption coordinator Laura.
Note: I’m a fully vetted, spayed adult GSP so my adoption fee is $375.
