Gibbs is ready to find his forever home!
Howdy everyone, my name is Gibbs Breaux (aka Gibbers or Gibbie Gibbs) and I'm approximately 1 year old. I'm currently in Greeneville, TN and in need of a new home. A little history about myself... I showed up as a stray at the home of wonderful humans last Fall on the wonderful lady's birthday (a very belated birthday puppy she never received as a little girl). She gave me a great name after the character on the TV show NCIS because he has rules for everything..Rule 39: "there are no coincidences." And my middle name in honor of her brother. After searching for my owner with no luck, and not wanting me to be euthanized at the kill shelter, they took me into their home. I really love them, but I'm young and, well, have GSP puppy craziness, so they're doing what's best for my future and helping me find a new home through SEGSP rescue.
Some basics about me... I'm very young and I really need a home with a secure fence where I can run free and just be the active puppy I am. I do have a little bit of something mixed in with my GSP but I have all of the GSP craziness and come with LOADS of cuddles and puppy kisses. I will need a home with lots of time to give me all the training and attention I need to be a good GSP family member. I'm house-trained, crate-trained, leash-trained and can be left alone in the house (My current Mom says I'm very trustworthy but in a new home I should probably be watched for awhile...trust but verify). Although I'm safe to be left alone I really prefer to have you with me and will bark when you leave.
I'm healthy (vaccinated in fall and heartworm tested in May 2019) and neutered. I like other dogs, but I tend to be the dominant one (at least I try). I bark at cats so..... and I LOVE children and always want to play with them when I see one. I don't like loud noises like thunder, fireworks or gun shots, which is probably how I ended up lost to begin with.
I'm super smart and know the commands "sit" "stay" and "pee pee." That last one is embarrassing but I'm always praised for it so I guess it's a good thing. If you want me as part of your family you MUST have a lot of stuff for me to chew on because, well, I'm a puppy. LOVE to chew! Oh, and hugs, cuddling and food...those are must-haves as well. Treats are always appreciated as well!
I've been told I have brought so much joy to my temp Mom's life so I'm anxious to find another family to pass on the joy. If you're waiting for a GSP like me, please complete an adoption application (if you haven't already) and email my adoption coordinator Kate at firstname.lastname@example.org Thanks!
P.S. I'm healthy, young, vaccinated and neutered so my adoption fee is $375.
