What can possibly be better than one adorable GSP? TWO adorable GSPs!
Trigger and Gauge are ready to find their forever home together. They are 8.5 year old littermates with a lot of energy and love to give. To them, age is just a number. They have the energy of a youngster, but have grown out of the puppy like tendencies. It's the best of both worlds! And what a pair! These two are like peanut butter and jelly, salt and pepper, hotdogs and hamburgers....you get the picture!
These happy healthy boys are looking for a home where they will get lots of love, attention and exercise. A big backyard with a solid fence, at least 6' tall is a must. They both like to catch balls, fetch sticks, chase birds and after a long playtime, will snuggle up to their favorite human. Trigger and Gauge are very well mannered and haven't even tried counter surfing. They are good with kids (6+) and other dogs but we aren't sure about cats yet. And they have excellent recall, which is fantastic! They are super smart and know several commands, including: Sit, Stay, Come, Kennel Up, Out (drops what's in his mouth), Up (load into vehicle, Off or Go Play, Wait (will stop at the doorway) and Lay Down. Neither of the boys has had any issues with chewing household items.
Trigger is a very happy go lucky velcro guy. He prefers to be his human's shadow if possible. His foster mom says that Trigger is the calmest GSP she has ever met. He loves his people. He likes to be in your lap or next to you at all times. He tends to be submissive and gets along well with other dogs. He will push his way into any opportunity for a pet or a snuggle. What can we say? He's a guy who knows what he wants! He loves his toys and will carry them around in his mouth. In fact, he finds sticks, leaves, balls, grass...anything he can pick up, he will carry around in his mouth. He loves his ball and will chase it and bring it back to you. He likes walks and playing outdoors as much as he enjoys his afternoon naps.
Gauge is more independent and likes to be the boss. He is leash trained, but could use a little more work with pulling. He is about 98% housetrained. He just needs to stay on a schedule and he will get there! His foster mom says Gauge is a great GSP. He is very calm, but does like to be in charge in a subtle way. He will do a low growl to keep the other dogs in check. He's a boss man! He loves to run and play in the backyard. He does fine being separated from Trigger, but whines and looks for him when he's not there. He isn't much into toys, but loves his ball! He is very sweet and will want to climb in your lap. He will let you do almost anything to him that you need to (teeth, eyes, nails) and he tolerates a bath super well. He's overall just a very chill and sweet GSP.
These boys are a perfect duo and have done well with their foster siblings. We do think they would do better in a home where it's just the two of them or where the other fur siblings aren't super dominant or aggressive. They are the sweetest and will cover you with kisses and nub wags all day long if they could.
Their ideal home would:
