SEGSP Rescue Dogs Ready for Adoption
"Howdy! I'm Winnie, reporting live from Tennessee! I just hit the big 13-week mark, and boy, am I pumped to find my forever humans! I've got the coolest foster brother, a 4-year-old male GSP, who's been showing me the ropes of being an awesome little sister (even if it means getting into a bit of mischief together). Having him around is the best, and I'm crossing my paws for more siblings to play with!
I'm in the midst of mastering this whole house-training business. I know the deal about doing my business outside, but sometimes my excitement or morning grogginess gets the best of me! I'm getting better, though. Rome wasn't built in a day, right? Exploring? Oh yeah, that's my thing! Inside, outside, even in spots Mom wishes I wouldn't poke around in (like the shoe rack or laundry basket). Mom says "No!" and usually, I listen, but sometimes I like to make her work for it and spice things up with a little game. Speaking of games, I'm all about tug-o-war, hide and seek, and chasing my foster brother and other dogs in the yard. A yard to romp around in? Count me in! Mom's been putting in some serious training hours with me. I've nailed "Sit" and we're working on "Down", "Off" (especially when I'm too excited, or if I know something is on the counter…), "Drop", "Heel", "Leave it", and "Place". Oh, and this halter lead for walks? Not a fan at first, but I'm warming up to it. I'm even starting to get the hang of walking on the leash, although I do enjoy asserting my dominance over my foster brother's leash once we're both done with our business. One thing Mom's proud of is teaching me a release command, especially at breakfast and dinner time. When she says my name with a "Break", it's game on! Still, I struggle with resisting the temptation of my foster brother's food. He's been patient, even sharing sometimes, but I sense not all dogs will be so generous. Being a baby means I need a lot of baby things! Attention, playtime, potty breaks—I'm all about it. Crate time is okay, as long as it's short and sweet. I'll snooze through the night in my crate, though I might peep for a bit (especially if I hear you leaving, I’ve got a little bit of separation anxiety from my foster brother and my humans). Being covered helps, but being alone? Not my favorite. I'll definitely let you know when I'm feeling down. Patience is key, but hey, I'm worth it! I'm up to date on vaccines, healthy and microchipped. Since I'm under a year old, my adoption fee is $800. My adoptive family will have me spayed at the appropriate time and will receive a $200 refund from SEGSP at that time. If you think you'd be the right home for me, please email my foster family at segspkristen@gmail.com and let them know why you'd be an amazing family for me. And be sure to complete an adoption application or let them know if you already have one on file if you've completed one already. I can't wait to meet you! Comments are closed.
