Rufus

Our 2012 Alumnus Rufus left this world because of congestive heart failure and pneumothorax in October 2013, only 14 months after entering Rescue.  His mom Jodie was with him when he passed away.
 
Rufus was found in Alabama in 2012 in a ditch...filthy, hungry and exhausted.  He was transported to Florida for temporary foster care with Gail and Mike.  He was heartworm positive, had an upper respiratory infection, a urinary tract infection, faded coloring from poor nutrition, scars all over his body, infected front teeth, both ears notched and was very timid.  Jody Skeen took over care of Rufus and was faced with numerous challenges, but she showed Rufus that not all humans are bad and he was safe and loved. 

Jody quickly fell in love with Rufus and adopted him.  She gave him a wonderful year with a beautiful house to live in, healthy food and treats and most importantly, lots of love and care.  He was safe and happy...finally.
