This year's 2024 t-shirt campaign for SEGSP Rescue is a bit different. It will run from July 1st to July 10th and still have lots of color and sizing options. BUT this year, the campaign is also checking off a bucket list item for 2017 alum, Scout. Read on to learn more...
In 2017, a scared, thin and anxious GSP entered our rescue. He had been in training to be a bomb sniffing dog with TSA, but was booted from the program after years of missing the mark. This poor pup was mentally beat down and afraid of his own shadow when he came to SEGSP Rescue.
Luckily Onyx (now Scout) flourished outside the airport. He became a wonderful companion to his lab sister Zoey, and a treasured member of his adopted family. He has advocated for SEGSP Rescue since 2017 and helps his mom weekly with the Rescue's social media.
Fast forward, and earlier this year, Scout was diagnosed with intestinal cancer. At an estimated 13/14 years old, he and his family are celebrating each day they have together with a bucket list. On that list is to give back to the rescue that saved Scout's life.
This year, on the 2024 t-shirt, you will see a likeness of Scout. It is in honor of all the dogs that have, and will, come through SEGSP Rescue. They each have their own story to tell, and bucket list to check off. Every shirt purchased will help GSPs, like Scout, who need a second chance.
Thank you for supporting SEGSP Rescue, and for allowing Scout to add another check mark to his list. T-shirts will be available starting Monday, July 1st at 6am.
Remember Truman? Truman came to rescue in 2019 with advanced heartworm disease and a mast cell tumor and tragically died 3 months into his rescue journey.
Well, we have exciting news... Truman’s dad David started a handcrafted pet bed company in his honor called Truman and Teddy (https://trumanandteddy.com) and is offering a 15% discount to our supporters (plus 20% of the proceeds excluding shipping contributed to SEGSP) for every dog bed purchased.
Truman was officially adopted by David and his family shortly before his death and it was important to them that even though Truman may never know or realize it, that Truman had a permanent family when his soul left this earth. Teddy joined the family after Truman passed away, joining SEGSP alumni Hank and Buddy.
Thank you, David, for honoring Truman by naming your company after him, and donating to SEGSP in his memory.
SEGSP Supporters, when you order your Truman and Teddy dog beds, we’d love to see photos! You can send them to [email protected]
The @German Shorthaired Pointer Coffee Company donates a percentage of proceeds from each sale to several GSP rescues, including SEGSP. We are grateful for their continued support.
We just learned that they have some Feb. specials for Valentine's Day and thought we'd share what our friends are doing.
Check out their page at https://gspcoffeecompany.com for a special Valentine's Day Collection of tees and mugs, and also their special edition whiskey barrel aged coffee that is available for a short time. (And remember, they have a dog section with yummy treats!) Thank you again to @German Shorthaired Pointer Coffee Co for your support of our rescue.
The Kroger Community Rewards program is still active in two locations, but we’re hoping to expand it with your help!
Kroger invites their customers to direct funds to the charities they care most about. If you are a Kroger shopper, please inquire at your store about adding SEGSP to its rewards program. Feel free to get in touch with us if you have any difficulties.
If you live in one of the currently active zip codes (33058 and 20368), just link your Kroger Shopper’s Card to Southeast GSP Rescue, then when you swipe your Shopper’s Card, Kroger will donate a percentage of your purchase to SEGSP.
We consistently receive about $40 each quarter from Kroger… Thank you to the SEGSP supporters who have added us to their store card!
