Fantastic news!!!! Tasha had a very good weekend… She found her forever home and is now named Naava!
Her foster mom Abby said it was an instant match when she met her new family, Matt and Merri Beth. She romped around the backyard, and they took her for a stroll through the neighborhood and Abby saw adoration flowing in both directions. So sweet! Congratulations to Matt, Merri Beth and Naava! And thank you Abby for helping Naava along her journey! Goose has found his forever home, right with his foster mom and dad, Jennifer, and Andrew. Before Goose went to his last foster home, Jennifer babysat him for a few hours before the transport and we believe it was love at first sight for them both. It was determined that Goose didn’t really need the specialized training the other foster, Vicki, offered (thank you Vicki), so we made room for another foster dog with her, and Jennifer decided to foster Goose.
From Jennifer, “Well I feel bad saying I failed as a babysitter and knew it the moment Leslie (the transporter) and I walked outside, and he was pulling on his lead to come with me instead of going with her. That’s when I knew, though I told him not to break my heart and called my husband crying when he left. Next thing you know, we’re driving to North Carolina to pick him up to foster. He’s been at home ever since. He fits right in with my gang. When I first picked up him from the Kennel, all I saw was this big goofy guy with his big ole tongue hanging out his mouth sideways, who just jumped right on up into my car, I loved him. It was love at first sight.” She added, “He’s very at home, and very loved here. It’s hard not to fall in love with his big head and those deep brown eyes. His personality is something else. He’s so clumsy and keeps us laughing. He has the biggest derpy smile. He didn’t know how to give kisses when we got him, just big hugs! He’s the biggest snuggle bug and prefers to sleep on top of you or on your head- or even to be used as a pillow. He just loves love, and he has a lot of big love to give in return.” Goose, I guess when you know, you know! We are so happy you found your way back to Jennifer and we love how well you’re getting along with your two GSP siblings. It sounds like you’re exactly where you were meant to be. Megan, now named Daisy, has found her forever home! Daisy was one of ten GSPs rescued from a breeding situation. Despite her past, Daisy blossomed in rescue thanks to her foster mom Victoria. We can’t thank her enough for all she’s done for this pretty gal, especially finding her perfect forever home.
Congratulations to Daisy and the Newland family! Great news… Lucy has made it to her new forever home with Cindy & Monte! Lucy came to rescue after her original owner passed away and she was surrendered to a vet clinic. But that trauma is behind her now and Lucy’s new journey with Cindy and Monte will no doubt be amazing. Notice the "It's a Girl" sign.
Cindy and Monte said, “We are absolutely thrilled. First day was a success and Lucy did wonderfully on her 1st night. She slept on her new bed right next to us. Hardly moved all night. We woke up this morning, went out, got Sunday paper, had breakfast & now she’s snuggling with us in our bed. Making contented sounds as we both pet her. We are all very happy . Thanks for everything!!!” Ah, now that’s a great GSP life! Thank you, Brian, for helping Lucy with her transition to rescue life and then finding the perfect home for her. Congrats everyone! We look forward to more updates… Trooper (looking up at his new mom and dad) has found his forever home with the Fowler family.
Trooper came to rescue in January after being surrendered to a shelter in SC. Thank you to his foster mom Allison for not only fostering Trooper during his rescue journey but finding the perfect home for his puppy needs. We have amazing volunteers! Congratulations everyone! Our liver foster, Gordo, now called Bennie, has chosen his forever home with the Andrews family. And he now has a GSP brother, Booner, and loads of land to explore and play. His new dad says he has settled in so well and has been loving sniffing and playing and exploring his new home. And he even had his first kayak excursion this past week and did great!
We are so grateful for the Andrews family for adopting him, annd also to his foster dad, Chris, for loving him and preparing him for success at his forever home. Sallie didn’t have far to go when she selected her forever home, because she has decided she is staying put with her foster family and isn’t not going anywhere. Her dad Will said, “Sallie joined the family while her dad and siblings were up north chasing grouse. As soon as they returned, it was readily apparent that her foster mom, Ashley, didn't want to find any forever home except to convert the foster into forever. Sallie immediately bonded with her 5 GSP siblings and loves playing with her older brothers. She's especially fond of her playmate, Lucky. Sallie made it too hard to say no and too easy to say yes with her loving nature, friendly heart, and adventurous spirit. She fits right in and is a welcome addition at our hearth.”
Sallie, congratulations!!! And thank you so much to Will and Ashley for fostering her and realizing how well she fit in with your family. Rye (TN, in red collar) has selected her forever home with the Suarez family. And her foster mom, Mariah, couldn’t be happier with her choice.
From Mariah, “I am overjoyed with Rye starting her new life today! From the moment I met Rye’s prospective adopters, I instantly knew, this is her forever family. When I began the process of finding this little girl a home, I couldn’t help but worry. I asked myself questions like: Would I find a family that would take care of her like I do? Would they understand her personality and her habits? Would they love her unconditionally and spoil her forever? Thankfully, my helicopter dog mom brain (yep, I’m one of those), didn’t have to worry long. I knew in my heart, after our first video chat, that Maria, Sarah, and their GSP, Miranda, would be Rye’s family. The entire fostering process has been an incredible experience. Through the ups and downs, some sleepless nights, a few shredded toys (RIP Mr. Octopus), and lots of snuggles made it all worth it. At the beginning of fostering, I thought I was helping this little girl find a new and better life. But at the end, Rye also gave that to me. She taught me patience, gentleness, and compassion. Most of all, she showed me how the simple gesture of love and safety can change the trajectory for an animal forever. I’m so grateful to have been a small blip on Rye’s new life. Thank you SEGSP for allowing me to have this opportunity and for being such an amazing organization and thank you to Maria, Sarah and Miranda for giving Rye her new life. ” Mariah, you summed this up beautifully! We are so grateful for fosters like you and love how you shared your experience. And we are truly grateful to the Suarez family for loving Rye (and for making her a new Tampa fan)! Congrats to all! Barrett is now officially named Ben and is… HOME! We can’t thank his foster family, Avril and Ben, enough for helping Barrett adjust to his journey in rescue and finding the ideal home for this handsome boy. Avril said Ben was so excited he wouldn’t take the time to pose for a photo
Congratulations Ben, Jacob and Madalyn! We look forward to receiving updates and photos as Ben starts his forever journey. Bama has decided he's a Tennessee fan after all, as in, he's staying put with his foster dad who lives in TN and making it his forever home!
His new dad, Charlie, said of Bama, "He has the temperament of a grandfather on a park bench reading the newspaper. He has a pensive look to him and a silent demeanor, patiently awaiting to be met and talked to. The only sounds he makes are tiny little snores when he is asleep. Adorable! He likes to post up next to me when I work, oftentimes keeping my feet warm while also filling his need for physical connection. He's a great cuddler, too!" What a wonderful match! Bama is in great hands, and we can't wait for him to continue his forever story with Charlie. Thanks so much for fostering him, Charlie. We are grateful to you! Oh, and we heard he loves dog parks. You can see the smile on his face in this pic! :-) |
