Irwin in GA (on the right) thinks that sneakily nipping at his foster mom Kerstin is way too much fun for him to ever want to live anywhere else, so he's decided to make his foster family his forever home. Irwin won't admit it, but he's actually progressing far with his training sessions -- he's controlling his nippy impulses much better now and has become quite the little man about town at outdoor eateries without making a scene. Lady (a 2016 alumna) already knows how to keep her bratty little brother in his place, and they're a great-looking pair on their adventures together. Congratulations to Kerstin, Matt, Irwin, and Lady! Sometimes it's the challenging fosters that tug at our heartstrings the most!

Clank

Clank in GA (formerly Clark, on the right) has decided that, after sticking by him through two FHO surgeries, numerous hydrotherapy sessions, and countless hours of at-home physical therapy, his foster family should be his forever family. Big, big, thanks to Michelle, Mason, and 2018 SEGSP alumnus Patches for not only rehabbing this beautiful boy but also for including a very generous donation to SEGSP to commemorate his adoption. Clank is a *completely* different dog from the poor baby who entered rescue last year completely broken, body and soul. Clank is now a very BIG personality who loudly and enthusiastically tells his stories to anyone who will listen and who proclaimed himself King of the Couch as soon as he was healthy enough to hop up there. Right before his adoption, he proudly showed off his "adoptability" by taking the SEGSP coordinator on a 2-mile trail hike during which he navigated rocks, roots, and creek crossings with ease -- using his "bad" leg the whole time. Congratulations to Clank, Michelle, Mason, and Patches. We all knew this was coming, and we couldn't be happier!

Mia, in FL, has made her decision and is shouting it to the world…after reviewing so many applicants, the winner of precious Mia is the Lambert family!  A very big thank you to Mia’s foster mom Kim for all she’s done to find the perfect home for Mia. From Kim:
“Today was a beautiful day!  Mia is such a blessed girl. She was so excited to see her new family again. Running to meet them as if she had been missing her best friends. True Mia fashion she was telling them all about her adventures.  Mia is a special girl who found an amazing fur-ever family. Her foster siblings are going to miss her, but know that they can visit as often as they would like as they are only a few hours apart.”  ️ ️
Congratulations to Mia and the Lambert family – it’s a very happy day!

Loki (formerly Luno)

Loki (formerly Luno) has made it safely to his forever home and he’s super happy! He does miss his foster sister CC (alumna, formerly Elsa) and she misses her play buddy Loki a lot, but he is having a blast with his NEW fur sister Bean! And we’re pretty sure they will see each other again from time-to-time. :-)

His new folks, Allie and Kyle, are in love with their new fella and have already taken him to the dog park, on a 3 mile run and to meet a new friend on a playdate. He is “livin’ the dream”!

A very special thank you to Loki’s foster mom Cathy for all she has done to prepare him for his forever journey. Congrats to everyone, especially Loki!

Benelli

Benelli has found his forever home! In addition to awesome forever parents, he now has forever dwarf goats, miniature horses, other horses and a GSP sister Lucy – quite a big family!  He came to rescue last October as a young pup with an injured back leg that was eventually amputated to ease his pain.  Regardless of his struggles, Benelli has always lived life to the fullest.  A HUGE thank you to Benelli’s foster family, the Greens, who nursed Benelli after his amputation and neuter, then taught him to be loved and an inside pup with house-training and good doggy manners.  It took Benelli a while to learn how to live in a house with things called stairs and toys and mirrors to look at how handsome he is, but he graduated and is on his next journey.  Congratulations Rachel, Jordan, Lucy and Benelli!

Birdie

We are so “hoppy” to report that Foster Birdie has decided to stay put and make her foster home her forever home.

From her former foster and now forever mom, Holly:  We fell in love with Birdie the second she came into our home. She is the snuggliest puppy in the world. She has fallen right into our family routine and it’s like she has always been here. Birdie is the best backyard racer with our Tuck, the sweetest lover when it’s time to calm down, the best sister to her human brothers, Carter and Cooper, the silliest, wildest, and best girl. We are so happy she has chosen to stay with us.  We feel so lucky.  ️
