Susie

Susie, dumped from a truck and saved by a Good Samaritan, now smiles all the time after feeling safe and loved, and now free  of heartworms. Her foster mom says it’s contagious and she can’t help but be in a good mood when she comes home from work, no matter what sort of day she has had.

Her foster mom said, “She is my spirit animal, her joy gives me joy. She just makes me happy.”  She says that Susie completes her pack and she can’t see her going anywhere.  So, foster dog Susie is now officially forever dog Susie!  She joins four legged brothers, Ranger and Chubbs, pictured here with her.

We are so happy to announce this adoption and believe that it is the perfect match.  Congratulations to Susie and the K’Meyers!  We are beyond thrilled!

Sadie (Dixie)

Some happy news… Sadie, in SC, has decided to stay right where she is and is officially now Dixie!  Her foster parents Jackie and Jeremy fell in love instantly and the feeling is definitely mutual.

From Jackie:
“We are so lucky to have her.  She’s a pint sized pup with a BIG personality. She zips around at full speed during her enclosed off leash runs and quickly comes back to remind you that she’s not going anywhere and off she goes again. Jasper and Dixie act like brother and sister.  It’s so funny to watch them play together.  She is so small compared to him, but she doesn’t let his size intimidate her.  They take turns literally pushing each other around.   Miss Dixie decided she wanted to stay and we agreed!”

Even her cat siblings like her, or at least they aren't upset she’s staying LOL!  Congratulations Dixie!

Ellie, who was on our courtesy page, has found her new home.  There were many wonderful applicants, but Ellie’s family chose Pete and Cheryl and they were a perfect fit.  Ellie was so happy when she met them and after she jumped in their car, she refused to get out for a photo.  She’s doing so well and is officially spoiled.  Congratulations Ellie, Pete and Cheryl!

Baylee in NC has found her forever home!  While in rescue Baylee learned how to walk on a leash, go to parties, swim and her foster brother Jager taught her how to dig and kill moles – yikes. But despite that last new trick, her new family is super excited to add her to the mix and love her forever. Thank you to her foster parents Shannon and Marty for preparing her for this day.  And congratulations to Baylee and the Bleiberg family!

Ranger

Ranger’s foster dad said working with the phone’s camera timer was less than perfect when he tried to do a recent photo shoot.   But we disagree!  We think the pics, the message on the board and this match is just that—perfect!

Ranger was so very happy in his recent foster home that he asked if he could just go ahead and stay forever.   When it’s a fit, it’s a fit, and his foster dad felt it was just that!  You can see the awesome bond between these two and we are so happy for you both.  Congratulations to Ranger and his new dad, Dylan!

Diesel

Congratulations to Diesel (NC), now Cody, on finding his forever home...right where he was, with his foster family!  Cody knew he REALLY wanted some kids to play with, another pup to hang around and someone home a lot of the time to keep him company.  While he was waiting for his foster mom to find his perfect family, he and his GSP sister decided they were best friends!!  From his mom Stacey, “Cody and Brownie have become inseparable over the past few weeks.  She whines when she can’t find him and he roams around the house looking for her.  With the rest of us already in love with him, the decision was easy to make him a part of our family.  He feels like he’s been with us always and none of us can imagine not having him around.”

Cody’s original family suffered a tragedy and unfortunately could not keep him.  He came to rescue a little scared, a little confused and sad.  With the help of his foster, now forever, family, he has blossomed into a happy, fun and silly pup!

Congratulations again to the Lowther family; especially Cody and his brand new GSP sister, Brownie!

Anderson

Some people ask why a meet-and-greet before adoption is so important to SEGSP – well, Anderson will tell you.  His foster parents Missy and Chuck drove SEVEN hours to take him to a meet-and-greet with his potential new family.  Anderson really liked the human, but the little canine companion and Andy didn’t quite hit it off.  So…on the 7-hour trip home the next day, Andy started thinking and came to his own conclusion – he is staying with his foster folks - and they agreed!!!
Congratulations to Anderson, now Andy, and Missy and Chuck!  It’s sometimes a very windy road, but we know this adoption is forever!

Moose in AL has found his forever home and forever family on Mother’s Day.

From his foster mom Cheyenne, “Moose just left on his road trip home to Georgia. I never knew my heart could be so happy and so sad at the same time. We will miss him so incredibly much but find so much comfort in knowing that the Briere family will love him just as much and be able to provide such a wonderful home for him.”

Thank you to everyone who helped Moose on his journey to forever.
