IHi there, my name is Ripley and I am searching for a family to spend my life with.
Hi- my name is Ripley. I am approximately 2 years old and was sadly surrendered by my previous owner – I don’t know why and I was so confused. I had scars on my ears from frostbite and was positive for heartworms so it was probably a good thing for me that rescue found me. I am healthy now and ready to find my “real” furever home!!
I am small for a GSP-about 50 lbs with lots of energy! I get along great with my 2 canine siblings and just ok with my feline sibling - sometimes I still bite at him and sometimes I ignore him (depends on my mood or if he’s being a brat to me). I also have an 11 year old human sibling who I love and adore but I haven’t been around little humans yet - I am pretty rambunctious so I might knock them over (not on purpose of course).
I am crate trained, know some basic commands, and walk pretty well on a leash (which i’m told is super great for a GSP with so much energy). I am working on stay and come (not as easy for a GSP) - I usually am too focused on whatever i’m doing to listen to that one! I am not food aggressive and I love trying to get treats out of my kong toy (it keeps me busy so I don’t get bored and in trouble). I am a lovable boy - I sleep on my bed beside my foster Mom and stay in my crate during the day while she’s at work (which is fine since she lets me run run run my energy out before she leaves so I just sleep). I need a secure fence so I can sniff and look for critters and so I don’t get lost outside (and I can ruuuuuuun as much as I want). I would love to have a home with another dog to play with but I also think I would be ok with just my humans too (as long as they pay lots of attention to me).
If you are ready for a sweet, handsome boy to add to your family please fill out an adoption application and email my foster mom Stephanie.
P.S. I am a neutered, fully vetted and temperament tested adult GSP so my adoption fee is $375. I went through heartworm treatment so will need to be retested the beginning of September.
