Hello-my name is Scout and I am a beautiful 5 month old GSP mix currently in north MS. I was rescued along with my mom and 5 siblings after a few of my other siblings didn’t make it. The vet thinks I was pretty lucky as well; we all had some nasty intestinal worms but I am healthy now and weigh 20 lbs! I am super sweet and just want to play. I get along with all my female canine siblings and even my feline one. I am a good listener and know my name. I am working on basic commands and I stick close to my people and come when called (YEA!). I also know how to sit and wait for my food.
I sleep in my crate all night with no issues and go right in. I also spend time in it during the day as I am still working on potty training. I am doing pretty well with that though- I go right outside to potty on command but sometimes I still have accidents. I am not food or toy aggressive. I like to be close to my people and I love a sunny spot to sleep in. Like most puppies I like to chew but so far I prefer my bones and toys to pillows and shoes, which my foster mom really likes! I would say I am mid energy level for a GSP/puppy; I settle down nicely inside with a little exercise. If you think you could be my forever family please fill out an adoption application (if you haven't already) and email my foster mom Stephanie at [email protected] P.S. All this goodness is $800 with $200 refunded when I'm a year old and you have me neutered (which sounds scary to me). Hi guys! I’m Marvin in MS. I’m about 4 months old. I love other dogs and people but I have never been around cats so I’m not too sure about them.
I came into the rescue when I was pretty small, but I have gained lots of weight and weighed over 15 pounds at my last vet check up! I sleep all through the night in my crate and don’t wake up until someone comes to get me in the morning. I have learned that if I sit by the door, someone will take me outside to potty too. I am great on a leash and enjoy going on walks with my foster family. I also love riding in the car, but most of the time it just puts me right to sleep. Loud noises are still scary- loud mufflers, slamming doors, the vacuum, and sometimes big dogs that I don’t know. But I’m getting more confident every day. I absolutely love my foster brother Stanley; he has taught me so much. He has a huge toy basket that he shares with me too! Our favorite thing to do is play tug a war because I have typical GSP puppy energy. I will do just about anything for a treat! I can sit and stay, and sometimes my recall (“come”) is really good. I’m super smart and I’d love to learn new things with my future forever family. My foster parents think I need a home that is active and can help me keep a good routine. If you think you’re the family for me, please complete an Adoption Application (if you haven’t already) then email my foster mom MaryAsa at [email protected] P.S. I am soooo cute and that doesn’t come cheap LOL! Since I’m not neutered yet the rescue says I must be neutered immediately after I turn 1 year old and with proof of my neuter you get a partial refund. My adoption fee is $800 and the refund is $200. Pending AdoptionPending AdoptionHello-my name is Lacie, and I am a beautiful, intelligent, and sweet 2-year-old GSP looking for my forever family. My owner bought me but then he didn’t have the time for me so gave me to SEGSP. I’m excited about finding a family who has lots of time for me.
I am about 50 lbs. and am currently in north MS. I was heartworm positive when I first entered rescue and went through heartworm treatment but that’s all over now and I’m 100% healthy and off exercise restriction! I FINALLY get to run, and boy do I like to do that! I am super-fast and really fun to watch. And I stay pretty close to my people when I am off leash because I really love my people (but until I’m settled with a new family and know my new surroundings, I should be on leash). My foster mom Stephanie thinks I am a total typical GSP package- I like to follow her around, chase the cat, counter surf (I’m working on that but it’s so tempting) and I have tons of energy. I know basic commands like sit and come, and I am also crate trained. I don’t love being in my crate if I can’t see my people (I can be vocal when they are in another room) but I go right in with a treat and I sleep there all night in my mom’s room without a peep. I also stay in my crate for a few hours when my mom is working 2-3 days a week. I do pretty well on a leash and don’t pull too much. I am very eager to please and love to snuggle beside you on the couch (if you let me). I am submissive and get along well with my 2 female canine siblings and my male canine foster puppy sibling. I am VERY interested in my feline sibling and have a hard time settling down when I see him; I can’t help it. I just have that prey drive and want to chase him! I do settle down nicely inside once I’ve had some exercise. I am not food or toy aggressive either. I think it’s safe to say I am a really sweet, loving girl. P.S. All this love and cuteness (and health and temperament evaluation) comes with a $375 adoption fee to help pay for my vet bills. |
