Hello!  Nice to meet ya!  My name is Winston, I am believed to be about 18-20 months old. I have been with my foster family for about five weeks. I have come a long way since I first entered rescue.  I am housebroken and have learned to sit, eat from my own bowl, sleep all night in my crate and do great for about 4-5 hrs during the day in my big crate. I even go into the crate at night on my own and wait for my treat.  I have gotten along well with my seven year old foster brother as long as I don’t try to make him play with me. It has to be on his time. I think it’s because he is old.  :-)

I have been very sweet to children who have visited my foster family during my stay.  And I generally get along with everyone and everything.  I haven't been exposed to cats, but we assume that it would be best if I were placed in a home without them.  When I first arrived, I was very leery and stand-offish of my foster dad. It took me quite a while to calm down and adjust to his love and attention. I still bark at him when he comes home from work until I realize it’s him. I am a silly boy.  I bark at folks when they enter the house, telling them hello and wagging my tail like crazy.  I love company!  I am not big on being a lap dog just yet, because I think it’s play time if I am in your lap. I am not a “jump on furniture “kinda guy. If allowed, I just ease myself up, almost in slow motion and cautiously.  When I'm finally tired, I do love snuggles.

I am looking for a forever home that can be tolerant of my toddler antics until I grow a little older and calm down my puppy-ness. Chew toys and treats are my absolute favorite things. I am a puppy, so everything looks like a toy, sometimes I have to be redirected to my toys. I do pretty good on a leash, but I would love a fenced-in back yard. I am not a fence jumper but may be caught trying to dig if I am not watched.  I'd also love a family that will help provide me with a routine and structure and ample activity.  I'd also do just fine with a four legged brother or sister if they are easy going and playful like me!  My only real bad habit is removing the laundry from the basket, clean or dirty, it doesn't matter to me!  I like to collect them together and you can usually find any missing pieces in my bed.

I'm super excited to find my forever home.  I'm up to date on vaccines, microchipped and neutered and my adoption fee is $375.  If you think you might be the right fit for me, be sure to complete an adoption application.
