​Let’s start the week off with a SUPER happy announcement so beautifully told by our amazing foster volunteer, Vicki:

Dear Duke, Today is a new day, a fresh start, a clean slate, a new beginning with the most amazing dad a dog could ask for. You are already your dad’s whole heart; I saw it the minute he saw you and his smile lit up the world. The way he laughs at your ball obsession, the 100 questions he asked because his only concern is doing the best for you, the mini training session he asked for in the rain warmed my heart because I knew you were his only priority no matter what he had to endure, you would get what you needed. Your dad is so prepared for this journey with you, he has told his entire family, already sent your pictures to them all. This is not goodbye for us my handsome man because you and your new dad are my family now and I’m just a phone call away if you two need anything. We have already made plans for ongoing training for you, and he knows that you are welcome at my house should he ever need to leave town for work. You are gonna enjoy being a Marine dog, and you are about to learn what having an entire brotherhood of family is really about. You are entering into a family that only knows loyalty and commitment, a family that welcomes your need for structure, schedules, and routines because your dad is the same way. You have hit the absolute jackpot my boy and I could not be happier for you. I love you to the moon and back my handsome fetch maniac, enjoy your life, the hiking, the kayaks, the long walks and runs, live this life to the fullest and I promise you that you will never feel a concrete floor again.  Your foster mom, Vicki
