Peppers went to his forever home this weekend, and he’s fitting right in!  You may recall that he was posted for adoption in September, but was then discovered to have a torn ACL.   While recovering from surgery, his foster family had time to review his many applications and he was able to choose a perfect forever family for him!

From how new mom, "First thank you to all the volunteers, fosters, and wonderful people who work with SEGSP Rescue! We are thrilled to have Peppers (shown in pic on the right) find his forever family with us. In August of 2019, we adopted Bo (shown in pic on the left), an all black GSP from your rescue organization, and he stole our hearts before we even met him. Love at first sight. When he came to live with us, he slowly began to trust us and that he was with his forever family.

When our Rhodesian Ridgeback, Jabu, passed away in September, I wait a few days and went to the SEGSP Rescue site. Just looking! I saw Peppers and mentioned him to my husband. He’s seen Peppers too. I felt like he was ours, but my husband was reticent and we were both missing Jabu terribly. Time passed and I stayed in touch with Peppers foster mom. It was just enough time for my husband, Paul to get used to getting another GSP rescue and I know it was a done deal when he said he put Peppers name in a new password! LOL!

I always knew we would come back to SEGSP Rescue again. When Jabu passed it was hard, but how can you say no to more love?

Peppers first night at our house went really well. He was so curious about our house, loved the backyard, and when it was time for bed, he dutifully followed Bo into the master bedroom and laid on his bed. When we turned off the light, Peppers got up and went from one side of the bed to the other as if to check and see we were still there.

Today was checking the ground for moles in the backyard, snoozing, hanging out with Bo on the couch and taking a run at the dog park. He gets 3 walks a day with Bo - we are so happy to have him!"

Peppers, it sounds like you have made an excellent choice with the Olsons and with Bo.  And we have a very special thank you to his foster family for their patience and care as he stayed with them for an extended time while healing from surgery.
