​Trigger, our sweet 2015 alum, has passed to the Rainbow Bridge.  His forever mom Nancy gave us this beautiful tribute…
 
“Trigger has passed to the Rainbow Bridge. I am missing him dearly. The boy didn't have a mean bone in his body. Although he didn't "kiss", he was a good snuggler. When I first fostered him, he was brave and withstood the heartworm treatment like a champion. These last few years with him have been a blessing. Please join me in wishing him a fond farewell. Rest in Peace Trig, I will always love you.”
 
Trigger’s ‘before rescue’ life was no doubt very rough. He was only 7 when he came to rescue but had sores all over his body and was heartworm positive.  The sores were probably from living in a dirty kennel run and they got infected.  His remaining years in, and after, rescue were filled with inside living, good health and lots and lots of love.  Farewell Trigger – we’ll meet you one day at the Rainbow Bridge.

We are sad to announce that our 2011 Alum Belle has crossed the Rainbow Bridge.  Belle came from a shelter in Georgia and was fostered, then adopted by the Carter family. Belle came to rescue with her sister Bailey and ironically, the Carter family already had a GSP named Bailey in their family who had made them fall in love with the breed.  Her mom’s tribute below tells us Belle led an amazing life.
“When we agreed to foster, “rescue Bailey” was the one they recommended we take as Belle was expected to be difficult because she was so timid. We didn’t want to change “rescue Bailey’s” name, so we said we could handle “difficult” and fostered Belle. I have always said that our Belle was meant to be part of a Bailey/Belle duo, she just had the wrong Bailey to start with.

Belle came to us as our first SEGSP foster in 2011 from a backyard breeder. She was underweight and terrified of everything. Slowly but surely, we gained her trust, and she learned what it was like to be loved. In 2012 we knew we couldn’t let her go and proudly “failed” as fosters and made her an official part of the family.

Her favorite things included snuggles on the couch, rolling in the grass, trying to protect us from any animal on TV, playing with her GSP sister Bailey, pawing everyone for one more pet, and being wherever our little girl was. She always sat like a proper lady with her paws crossed and even wore crowns and jewelry when our daughter wanted her to play dress up. These memories, and a thousand more, will always make us smile.

Belle passed away on 3/15 surrounded by her family after a short battle with cancer. We are thankful to SEGSP Rescue for bringing Belle into our lives. We are so thankful to have had the chance to love her and to have been loved by her!”
We know Belle will be forever in her family’s hearts and until they meet again, Belle is patiently waiting at the Rainbow Bridge.
