Gus - NC

Hi Everyone! I’m Gus-like the lovable mouse in Cinderella. And my foster mom says if there is one word to describe me, it’s lovable. I want to go on walks with you, on car rides with you, to the office with you if that’s allowed, maybe have a romp in the back yard in the afternoon and then curl up for cuddles in the evening. My foster mom took me to the office and every meeting started late because I was soaking up the pets. Some people say GSPs are velcro dogs. I’m a superglue dog. I love love love my people.

I would do well in a home with one person who can take me lots of places or in a home with a few people who are relatively calm. Please no younger children. 

Like my namesake, I’ve hit my fair share of snags. I am not a huge fan of other animals, but in a subtle way. I’m very calm until they get too close for comfort and then I make it abundantly clear that they are in my space. So I would prefer a home with no other pets. But I am okay with other animals from a distance. I’m not leash reactive and I remain calm unless they get too excited too close to me. 

I was a rock star at Home Depot. My foster mom took me there and everyone could tell I was “in training” and I put on a show! I know how to wait, with, sit, come and I respond well to an e-collar. I would like a fenced in yard-mostly to keep other animals out. So the height of the fence is not of great importance. I’m also crate trained and house trained. 

I love bones, a jolly ball, enrichment toys (like a kong wobbler or a snuffle mat), and I’m mostly looking for a soft place to land and spend my golden years. I’m eight years young and quite the catch if you ask me! I’m neutered, up to date on shots, heartworm negative, and microchipped. My adoption fee is $375.
