Neyland & Stokely - GA

6/30/2023

Picture
This is Neyland (Lighter dog) and Stokely (Darker dog) and they are 4 years old. Both were named after prominent athletic facilities at the University of Tennessee.  Neyland and Stokely are purebred GSPs and from the same litter. Our family recently welcomed a new baby and now we have 3 kids and our schedules are very demanding. We don’t have enough time to give them the life they deserve and for that reason, we need to find a new home for them.

Neyland and Stokely are very active, great with kids, and very playful. They get along with everyone they have met. We have socialized them with other dogs and people. We don’t have cats in our house but we do have cats in our neighborhood that roam around and both are “eager” to play. Not sure how they would do if they actually came in close contact with cats.

We hate to have to give them up but it’s the best decision for us and them. They have been with each other all of their lives and we require that they go to the same home.

Neyland and Stokely are located in Lawrenceville. Contact Devin at ddlow007@gmail.com.

Ramsey - GA

4/6/2023

Picture
Sadly, Ramsey (GA) has been at Furkids Rescue for over a year. He originally came to Furkids as a puppy with his littermates. Now, he's waiting patiently for a second chance at a forever home. Ramsey is an affectionate dog who loves attention! He adores his brother, Raven, who is also in our shelter at this time.

Both pups love running and playing with each other in the yard chasing after balls. Ramsey's favorite game is fetch! Ramsey would do best in an adult-only home with Labrador Retriever or GSP experienced owners where he is the only pet (unless he is adopted with his brother Raven).

Ramsey's previous adopter did a DNA test and he is 1/3 Labrador Retriever, 1/3 German Shorthaired Pointer, and 1/3 Staffordshire Terrier; a great mix! Ramsey is a pretty typical lab/gsp who would love to be someone's hiking, swimming, or running buddy. With the right amount of exercise and some training, we know Ramsey would make a lifelong best friend!

Ramsey weighs 70 lbs., is approximately 4.5 years old (est. birth date 10/21/2018), and his adoption fee is $305. If you want more information about Raven, please submit a survey at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FKDS/Dog.

At this time, meeting our dogs is by appointment only. After submitting a survey, an adoption counselor will contact you to give you more information about the dog you are interested in adopting and to arrange for you to meet. Must be at least 21 years of age to adopt.

You can see Ramsey’s official post at: https://furkids.org/animals/ramsey-11840

Sadly, Raven (GA) has been at Furkids Rescue for over a year. He originally came to Furkids as a puppy with his littermates. Now, he's waiting patiently for a second chance at a forever home. Raven is an affectionate dog who loves attention! He adores his brother, Ramsey, who is also in our shelter at this time. Both pups love running and playing with each other in the yard chasing after balls.

Raven especially loves nudging his nose up against your leg for some pets. Raven would do best in an adult-only home with Labrador Retriever  or GSP experienced owners where he is the only pet (unless adopted with Ramsey).

Raven's previous adopter did a DNA test and he is 1/3 Labrador Retriever, 1/3 German Shorthaired Pointer, and 1/3 Staffordshire Terrier; a great mix! He is housetrained and would make an excellent pet for years to come!

Raven is a pretty typical lab who would love to be someone's hiking, swimming, or running buddy. With the right amount of exercise and some training, we know Raven would make a lifelong best friend! Raven weighs 67 lbs., is approximately 4.5 years old (est. birth date 10/21/2018), and his adoption fee is $305.

Ruger - GA

9/9/2022

Picture
Ruger is an 8-month-old male who has not been neutered. Ruger has lots of puppy energy and is super affectionate. His owner is no longer able to care for him. Ruger does have a full tail, but that just means he has more to wag when he’s excited. Ruger is up to date on all vaccines.

Ruger is not gun-shy and loves to hunt for birds. He is a bird dog after all. He has been around other dogs and gets along with all of them, but has not been tested with cats or chickens.

In full transparency, Ruger has not had the best life so far. He spent the first few months of his life bouncing from a leash tied outside to a kennel inside, so he does have a lot of energy. Ruger also does not know many commands or his manners, but we are working on the basics with him until he can find a new home.

I would like for Ruger to go to a home with someone who can take up the time with him that he needs. His new home must have a fenced-in yard! Ruger will not come with any registration papers and there will be a rehoming fee of $200

If you are interested in giving Ruger the life he deserves or learning more about him (located in Tifton, Georgia) please contact Madelyn at Willabee2000@gmail.com or send a text to 706-871-9357

Gunner - GA

8/19/2022

Picture
Gunner is an AKC-certified male in Zebulon, Georgia. His owners had a change of circumstances and were no longer able to care for him. They gave him to a good samaritan, Krista, in hopes that she could find his forever home. As you can see, Gunner is a good-looking guy. He is 6 years old, intact, and knows his manners and basic commands. He seems to have a little training with ecollars and whistles but needs a refresher course. Gunner is not gun-shy, fine around horses, and has no issues with children. He is crate trained and doesn't seem to be an escape artist in the yard, but certainly has the athleticism for a standard fence. He does not like cats or chickens, and most importantly, prefers to be the alpha. He would thrive in a one-dog active home or with more submissive sibling. If you are interested in learning more about Gunner, contact Krista at 404-229-3719.

Lincoln - GA

2/13/2022

Picture
Hello, my name is Lincoln. I’m 7 years-old, healthy, up-to-date on my vaccinations, neutered, and currently being cared for in Roswell, GA. I have no health issues and my Vet claims “they don’t come any sweeter than this handsome guy.” Did I mention that I was house-trained, great on the leash, and love small and big canine companions?

Some of my favorite things include but are not limited to…large bones, belly rubs, dinner time, and my two recent companions (Schnauzer-mixes 3 and 6 years-old). I have lived with cats and kittens in the past without any issues. I’ll be honest though, I would rather you vacuum when I’m not in the room but I’ve never been known to chew or destroy anything around my home.

If you were to ask, I would say that a tall fenced-in yard would be perfect, especially a taller fence, like 6 feet as I love to chase squirrels.

In case you were wondering…my original family recently ran into some finance trouble and had to move to an apartment where no animals are allowed. I am truly a wonderful family dog and I am very hopeful that I will find a family that really loves me, cuddles with me, and will be my forever family.

If you’re interested in adopting me, please email the couple that recently took me into there home even though they already have a house full of pets, Candy & Ken at ctournas@comcast.net
