Rocky - TN

3/24/2023

Picture
Meet Rocky! He is a 3 year old gsp weighing about 50 pounds and has been neutered. He is a sweet snuggly boy with a lot of energy who loves his people. He is also loves to talk when he’s excited or is trying to tell you what he wants.
Since he has lots of energy, he loves being outside whenever he can so a fenced in backyard or having a large property to run on would be best. His favorite thing is to chase a disc golf frisbee and play fetch with it. Car rides make him very happy but don’t roll the window down too far or he might jump out. He loves to swim and take baths but he is afraid of the water hose. He can get startled from sudden noises but not fireworks, he loves to go outside and watch them. When he’s ready to settle down at the end of the day he loves to snuggle on the couch with you and a blanket. He has free roam of the house and does great when left alone. He is always very happy to see his people return home and has the wiggle butts with all his excitement.
He has a high prey drive, especially loves chasing birds. He has not been tried as a hunting dog, but I believe he could do it if the right person came along and wanted to train him.
Rocky has been to a board and train so he knows several commands such as sit, stay, down, heel, place, come, leave it, and can walk nicely on a leash.
Rocky is a resource guarder, mostly of his food, bones, sometimes his space, and socks that he loves to steal. He will hand feed/scatter feed with no problems. He is reactive to strangers and other dogs. He has lived with his gsp brother most of his life but this may be where his resource guarding came from. He has also been around small children but gets excited/zoomies and does not know that he needs to be gentle. This is why we think it would be best for him to be in a home where he can be the only dog and no children.
If you are interested in adopting rocky and would like to know more about him,  please reach out to hreskola@gmail.com.  Rocky has a rehoming fee of $200.

Ranger - GA

3/9/2023

Picture
Ranger is a male GSP, approximately 6 years old. He was rescued in the desert near Kanab, Utah. He is a big boy, 72lbs and very athletic. He is full of energy and very smart. He loves playing fetch and watching/ chasing birds. At the end of the day this guy loves cuddles from his humans. Bedtime and naps are best spent burrowing under soft blankets, preferably in bed, but he also likes his crate.
He is house broken and crate trained.
Ranger will bolt if any door is left open though, so he needs a large secured area (more than 5ft high fence) to run and play in.
He is neutered, currently on flea/tick and heart worm preventative, and is up to date on vaccinations. He is not microchipped but has a fi collar, which has been useful in tracking his location and counting his daily steps.
Ranger plays well with other dogs but prefers hanging out with humans- total velcro dog.
His height and great sense of smell makes him an excellent counter surfer if no one is watching.
He knows the commands sit, down, off, leave it, back up, shake, high five, stay, come, outside, kennel, kiss, jump up, and roll over. He does need work on recall and walking on a leash.
I've never tested his abilities as a hunting dog, but he has amazing focus and drive. I think he would make a great companion for anyone who could handle his size and give him lots of attention and exercise.

No adoption fee, just looking for the right home.

Bentley - GA

2/6/2023

Picture
Greetings Friends! My name is Bentley! I’m a two-year-old, black and gray spotted German Shorthaired Pointer. I’m a male and weigh 60 pounds. I used to live with a nice family but unfortunately, they didn’t have enough time for me and realized that a GSP is quite a unique dog so they made the difficult decision to surrender me.

I was surrendered to the nice and caring folks at Coco’s Cupboard. They have all types of dogs and cats there. Coco’s Cupboard understands that GSP’s are distinctive and that I thrive on exercise, running and vigorous activity coupled with my natural instinct to hunt.  Staying active is necessary for me to be at my best. Coco’s Cupboard read about a great organization called the Southeast German Shorthaired Pointer Rescue and reached out to them to help me find a permanent foster home with a family that will help me find my way to my permanent forever home. The SEGSP Rescue have been kind and gracious to allow me to have my information posted on their website while I am staying at Coco’s Cupboard.

My Temperament – I’m a little apprehensive around new people until I get to know them. I like to observe people I don’t know before I will go up to them. Once I get to know you, then I want to spend lots of time with you and run and play. I love the outdoors and have been told that I’m good at training activities that are done with patience, fun and intermixed with exercise.

At Home – I’m house broken and crate trained. I have a sensitive nature and am playful and affectionate. I even love to cuddle a lot. About my meal times, I have to eat my meals in my crate because I’m possessive of my food when eating and have been known to take food off the kitchen counter. I need to learn that I’m not the boss. I know that with patience and positive training, I can learn to eat my meals like a gentleman. I am very motivated with treats so they are a good motivator for me while training.

Friends – I’ve met lots of nice people and other dogs at Coco’s Cupboard. I have many dog friends in every breed, shape and size. I enjoy playing with all of them! I enjoy people friends as well but if you are a push over, I may try to be in charge so I’ll need consistent rules and guidance from you. I will do my best to learn my manners with your help. I’m not familiar with being around young kids so being with adults is best for me at this time.

Activities – I love to run and my breed is known for hunting, pointing and retrieving. I have prey driven tendencies and will follow scents until I find what I’m looking for.

My Forever Family - I would love to find an active, patient family that will help me find my confidence and take me on lots of fun adventures! Please complete the following application for a meet and greet to determine that we are a good match and suitable for each other: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/COCO/Dog

If I am fortunate to be chosen by you to join your family, I will forever be your devoted and loyal companion and will do my best to be an awesome family pal. I really look forward to meeting you!

Lucy - FL

2/5/2023

Picture
LUCY needs a new forever home.   She was rescued off the streets in Florida.

Lucy is approximately one and a half years old, spayed, vaccinated, heartworm negative, on prevention, and microchipped. Lucy is a German shorthaired pointer crossed with some type of hound or lab. She is long legged, but only weighs 40 pounds. She stands about knee-high to the average human. She is the perfect size to share your bed with you at night.

Lucy is very kind but was previously treated poorly.  She is a little shy right at first but warms up right away. She would like an active family that has room for her to play with you, give her praise, and let her snuggle. She prefers to have at least one other dog to have yard races with and dog play.  Lucy would prefer another dog her size or bigger because little dogs and cats are fun to chase.

Lucy is a good girl but young and still in training, so she occasionally might have an accident on the floor or accidentally chew something in the house. She needs to know that it’s okay because she is young and still a pup in training. She also needs to know that the family is willing to provide a toy basket filled with a variety of toys to spread around the house every day. Lucy really enjoys walks and meeting other people. She is pretty sure that she would like obedience class and agility training. She is certain that she would be faster than anybody else in the class.

What Lucy has to offer in return is boundless love, devotion, loyalty, companionship, house, and yard protection, and hole digging.

You can send her current foster/rescue family a private message to get more information on seizing the opportunity to have one of the best dogs you’ll ever own in your entire life.  A rehoming fee rehoming fee required.  For more information, email  precisionsaddlery@gmail.com.

Goose - GA

2/5/2023

Picture
Goose is a four-year-old GSP.  This handsome guy is a ball of energy!  His perfect forever home would require a large secure fenced in yard.  Are you a runner?  I’m your guy!!!  I need a little help with training learning how to run on a leash though.  If you are patient enough we can be running buddies for years to come.

When I am not running around I love to sit in your lap.  I’m a total velcro dog.  I want to be next to you a much as possible.  Goose has some stomach sensitivity issues that require him to be on special food that is pretty costly.  Please keep that in mind when considering adding me to your family.  The vet thinks that it is my anxiety that is causing my stomach issues.  About that….I do have some anxiety issues so I need someone that is going to be able to spend time with me and exercise me to help with that.  I am a little nervous around new dogs but with proper socialization I would be a great brother to other pets.  Goose cannot be left home for long periods of time.  His perfect home would be with someone home most of the time.  I’m crate trained and love sleeping in my crate at night under my blankies.  I haven’t been around cats but tend to ignore them on my walks.  Due to my high energy I would be best suited in a home without small children.  Goose is neutered, current on all vaccinations and heart worm and flea/tick prevention.  All current/past veterinary records will be provided, as well as birth records.

If you are interested in adopting Goose, please contact my mom, April at aprprest@gmail.com

Willow - MS

1/27/2023

Picture
Willow is a three-year-old GSP. She has Addison's disease and is on medication. She is fully-vetted, spayed, heartworm negative and looking for someone to help be her new forever family. A kind rescuer is trying to help her out of a bad situation. If you are interested in Willow, please contact Murray Windham at 601-433-4969.

Dudley - NC

1/25/2023

Picture
Meet Dudley, a sweet 3-year old GSP mix who is looking for a new fur family. He is great around children and dogs of all sizes. Fetch is one of his favorite things to do and loves to be around his people. He is great on the leash and will only pull if he’s startled. Car rides and trips to the dog park make him a happy boy but doesn’t enjoy getting in the bath or getting his nails trimmed.

Dudley is crate trained and likes to sleep in there at night. He is also house trained and knows basic commands such as sit, lay down, go to bed, go to crate, leave it, wait, and stay. He is up-to-date on all vaccines, and is not neutered or microchipped.

He does have minor food allergies that show skin issues when prolonged exposure to chicken, beef and pork. He shows more serious symptoms when exposed to salmon; eye swelling and hives. He is fed lamb and also duck and rabbit treats.

The perfect home for Dudley would be an active family or person in the sense of being able to play and show him the attention needed for the energy level he has. A fenced in yard or access to a nearby dog park or someone who actively hikes and walks daily. A family or person that is home to spend time with him or willing to take him on their travels. He loves being a part of the family and spending time with people. Someone who is willing to play fetch as much as he likes to play and just be patient with him when he’s got a ton of energy built up. A family or person that will remember his needs for food and just give him the love and support he deserves.

If you are interested in adopting Dudley, please reach out to Evan Payne at evancpayne1995@gmail.com.

Bocephus - FL

12/27/2022

Picture
Bocephus is currently at the Walton County, FL Animal Shelter and he’s looking for a forever home.

He is approximately 7 years old, loves all dogs, is vaccinated, neutered however he is heartworm positive.  But don’t let that stop you from loving this boy – he is strong and can easily handle treatment. He may be a bit sun-bleached, but his true beauty is inside - he definitely has the pointer love gene and can cuddle with the best of them.

He has been dubbed “literally the sweetest dog” at the shelter and is very stoic and loving.

If you’re interested in adding Bocephus to your family, please contact the Walton County Animal Services at
wcasinformation@waltonso.org or 850-892-8758 (reference ID# 52468).

Ellie and Josie - FL

12/27/2022

Picture
Meet Ellie and Josie...

Ellie (white/liver) and Josie (ticked) are 6 months old, pure-bred, GSP puppies that are in need of a loving home.  They are both happy and healthy, up-to-date on all vaccinations and both are spayed. They are sisters and litter mates.

Ellie and Josie play well with other dogs and love everyone they meet.  They have LOTS of GSP puppy energy and will need a home that can give them the exercise they require (a LOT of it) and they would love a family that will give them adventures and of course, love…forever.

If you are interested in adopting Ellie and/or Josie, please contact Mike at 801-403-7249.

Paula - AL

12/14/2022

Picture
Paula is currently at the Elmore Humane Society in Alabama, and is looking for a forever home.   She is a GSP/Labrador mix and was surrendered to the Humane Society after having 6 puppies.  The puppies have a very bright future, so now it’s her turn.Paula is about two years old and is about 45 lbs.  She is SUPER sweet and smart.  She already knows some basic commands like sit, down and lay, and is even great at walking with a leash.  She LOVES to run and be cuddled.  Paula is very playful and of course, LOVES attention and being with her humans.
Paula will be spayed before being adopted, she is heart worm negative and healthy, is vaccinated and microchipped.  She is looking for an active home with perhaps another dog to play with (not mandatory) in a secure backyard, she doesn’t mind cats, and gets along with humans of all sizes. But most importantly, she wants a family that will love her forever!
If you’re interested in adopting Paula, the first step is to complete an adoption application at: https://elmorehumane.org/adoption-application-online-form2.html  (IMPORTANT – the Humane Society will respond to your emailed applications and queries via email back to you so mark their email as a ‘safe sender’ or check your spam folder regularly for their response).   Paula’s adoption fee is $100 (pays for her vetting) and you can learn more by contacting the Humane Society at hselco@bellsouth.net or (334) 567-3377.
You can also see Paula’s page on their website at https://www.petfinder.com/dog/221956-paula-59149880/al/wetumpka/humane-society-of-elmore-county-al24/

Freddy - NC

12/9/2022

Picture
Meet Freddy who is located in Fayetteville, NC. He is a fantastic 3 year old GSP that lives with a family that doesn’t understand the needs of a GSP. When he is outside he is tethered and unable to run and play. When he is inside he is in the crate most of the time. Without a release of energy it builds up and therefore he will jump that chain link fence to run and run and run if he gets a chance. A secure back yard is a necessity.

He is great with other big dogs and children. His favorite past time is running, jumping and playing with a tennis ball. He is your typical GSP personality. And with a family that would work with him and teach him and love on him like crazy he would make a great family member.

He is crate trained and house trained. He is neutered but not microchipped. The current family hasn’t had time to work with him on training sit, stay, down. So he can be a little rambunctious.

His perfect family would be active outside, maybe a runner or hiker. He wants to be loved, he wants to run and play, he wants to be a part of the family. He wants to be taken care of.

The current owners have given permission to neighbor Jennifer to find a more suitable home and family for Freddy. A family that knows about the breed and the requirements. If you want more information on this handsome kid or could give him a loving home, contact Jennifer at ravagedaffection@yahoo.com.

Opal - AL

10/13/2022

Picture
Meet Opal!!  She is a wonderful female Shorthair mix.  She came from one of the worst places ever, where dogs are treated as an old tennis shoe.  She was a stray, starving, hair loss, and was hit by a car.  We rescued her and completed her surgery, and completely vetted her.  She loves walks through the woods, and loves your attention.  She gets along with all dogs and she is gorgeous!!!  Her hair has completely grown back and can't even see scar now.

If you would like to meet her or more information, contact, Debbie Rappuhn at HASRA.  drappuhn@
aol.com, 256-335-1730.  We do require a great vet reference.  Located in Killen, Alabama.

Ruger - GA

9/9/2022

Picture
Ruger is an 8-month-old male who has not been neutered. Ruger has lots of puppy energy and is super affectionate. His owner is no longer able to care for him. Ruger does have a full tail, but that just means he has more to wag when he’s excited. Ruger is up to date on all vaccines.

Ruger is not gun-shy and loves to hunt for birds. He is a bird dog after all. He has been around other dogs and gets along with all of them, but has not been tested with cats or chickens.

In full transparency, Ruger has not had the best life so far. He spent the first few months of his life bouncing from a leash tied outside to a kennel inside, so he does have a lot of energy. Ruger also does not know many commands or his manners, but we are working on the basics with him until he can find a new home.

I would like for Ruger to go to a home with someone who can take up the time with him that he needs. His new home must have a fenced-in yard! Ruger will not come with any registration papers and there will be a rehoming fee of $200

If you are interested in giving Ruger the life he deserves or learning more about him (located in Tifton, Georgia) please contact Madelyn at Willabee2000@gmail.com or send a text to 706-871-9357

Gunner - GA

8/19/2022

Picture
Gunner is an AKC-certified male in Zebulon, Georgia. His owners had a change of circumstances and were no longer able to care for him. They gave him to a good samaritan, Krista, in hopes that she could find his forever home. As you can see, Gunner is a good-looking guy. He is 6 years old, intact, and knows his manners and basic commands. He seems to have a little training with ecollars and whistles but needs a refresher course. Gunner is not gun-shy, fine around horses, and has no issues with children. He is crate trained and doesn't seem to be an escape artist in the yard, but certainly has the athleticism for a standard fence. He does not like cats or chickens, and most importantly, prefers to be the alpha. He would thrive in a one-dog active home or with more submissive sibling. If you are interested in learning more about Gunner, contact Krista at 404-229-3719.

Mikey - TN

7/27/2022

Picture
Mikey is a handsome playful Shorthaired German Pointer mix. He is a Senior around 8 years old neutered and up to date on all shots . He was in a kill shelter when he was rescued along with his little soulmate. She was adopted forever but because of Mickey's size, he has been in a boarding facility for a couple of years. Mikey's luck hasn't been so good in a home either. This is not his fault but the bad luck of this sweet baby.

His first owner surrendered him to a kill shelter, his second had a fire that completely destroyed their home and could not keep him.

Mikey deserves a great home and even though he is 8 years, he has tons of energy and love to give.

If interested in him, you can go to https://www.petfinder.com/dog/mikey-45590180/tn/kingsport/tcgc-animal-league-tn168/ to fill out an application. His adoption fee has been lowered to get him in a home. We do home visits and Vet reference checks to make sure he will be in the best loving home.

Gastonia-NC

7/13/2022

Picture
This pretty young (2 years old) GSP mix was found in Gaston County, NC and her owner never came for her.  The shelter is full so she needs to be adopted soon...are you her lucky family?

We call her Gastonia, the town she was found in, but she will come to any name if you love her and treat her well.  She is healthy (heartworm negative), 48 lbs and will need to be spayed.  She is friendly, but nervous, but warms up quickly once she trusts you.  She walks well on a leash, did well with having blood drawn and is very well behaved.

She is located at the Gaston County Animal Shelter. If you are interested in adding this beauty to your family, please contact Animal Enforcement at Placementpartner@gcps.org or call 704-914-5573 (and reference her ID# A50593731).

Johnny - AL

6/15/2022

Picture
Looking for a turn-key GSP? Johnny is a lovable, 2 year old, GORGEOUS GSP who is searching for his forever home.  He was pulled from a shelter in Cleveland, Alabama by Southern Skies Rescue (a Lab Rescue), but is most assuredly a German Shorthaired Pointer.  He is currently in Arab, AL.

Johnny is very playful and has GSP energy so he’ll need a family that is willing to give him the exercise he needs.  He is great with other dogs and children (he is very rambunctious so bigger kids are preferred so he doesn’t accidentally knock the small ones over).  He’s a lady’s dog and loves female canines, and is pickier with male canines, preferring ones that aren’t aggressive – after proper introductions of course. So Johnny would need a meet-and-greet before he approves of a male canine sibling.

This handsome boy is fully vaccinated, neutered, microchipped and is heartworm negative and on heartworm preventative meds.  That, combined with his loving personality, makes him a turn-key GSP!

If you’re interested in adopting Johnny and giving him the love he is craving, please complete a Southern Skies Rescue pre-adoption application at https://www.southernskiesrescue.org/adoption-application

Mikey - AL

3/29/2022

Picture
Mikey (GSP/lab mix) is 2 years old and a big baby. When he is not hunting his back yard, he loves to cuddle –with another dog or human.  He just can’t lay by himself – he’s just a loving kind of guy.  When he’s not cuddling, he LOVES to search his back yard for anything he might love. And although he has that hunt instinct, he DOES get along with cats.

He is up-to-date on his vaccinations, heartworm/flea/tick preventatives, is house-trained and crate-trained – he’s a smart boy and would like to learn more things.  He would like a fenced yard he can search for interesting things, and must have at least one canine companion to cuddle with.  His best buddy, a Great Dane, recently passed away and that was his cuddle partner.

Most of all, Mikey needs a family that has the time to give him exercise (he needs to lose a tad bit of weight) and will include him in adventures and will cuddle and love him back forever. If you're interested in Mikey contact Teri at martin.terilyn@gmail.com.

Cash - NC

3/23/2022

Picture
Hello there! I’m Cash, and I am so-o-o-o excited to tell you about me!

Are you looking for a hobby sport dog, fully obedience trained, a high energy dog who would be a great hiking partner? Well look no further, I’m your guy! If you’re looking for a cuddly Golden Retriever, sorry but that’s not me.

I’m a Pointer/Golden Mix, I just turned one, I weigh 65 lbs., and I’m ALL puppy! I am so high energy that TGRR sent me to a trainer who says I have the temperament and drive of a Pointer and I’d be a great hobby sport dog. The trainer also thinks I’ll do best as an only dog (I’m picky about my canine friends), no young kids (teenagers are OK), and no cats.

A big fenced yard with a six foot or higher fence is a MUST for me since I’ve been known to jump fences. I love all kinds of balls, even deflated soccer balls. I love to fetch, tug, and I love all kinds of toys. I even love my crate! Actually, I love life!!

I need someone who’s ready for my energy, has lots of patience, will continue with my training and spend lots of time with me. I wouldn’t be a good fit for a busy family without the time to devote to me, but why would they not want to? I’m so adorable!

Hugs,
Cash

Cash is available through Triad Golden Retriever Rescue, tgrr.org

Lincoln - GA

2/13/2022

Picture
Hello, my name is Lincoln. I’m 7 years-old, healthy, up-to-date on my vaccinations, neutered, and currently being cared for in Roswell, GA. I have no health issues and my Vet claims “they don’t come any sweeter than this handsome guy.” Did I mention that I was house-trained, great on the leash, and love small and big canine companions?

Some of my favorite things include but are not limited to…large bones, belly rubs, dinner time, and my two recent companions (Schnauzer-mixes 3 and 6 years-old). I have lived with cats and kittens in the past without any issues. I’ll be honest though, I would rather you vacuum when I’m not in the room but I’ve never been known to chew or destroy anything around my home.

If you were to ask, I would say that a tall fenced-in yard would be perfect, especially a taller fence, like 6 feet as I love to chase squirrels.

In case you were wondering…my original family recently ran into some finance trouble and had to move to an apartment where no animals are allowed. I am truly a wonderful family dog and I am very hopeful that I will find a family that really loves me, cuddles with me, and will be my forever family.

If you’re interested in adopting me, please email the couple that recently took me into there home even though they already have a house full of pets, Candy & Ken at ctournas@comcast.net

Ellie - AL

11/8/2021

Picture
Hello, my name is Ellie and I’m a pointer mix, about a year old and am currently in the Birmingham, Alabama area. I was found abandoned on a farm and a nice family is trying to help me find a forever home.

I’ve been to the vet and am very healthy, was spayed, vaccinated and microchipped.  When I was found I had demodectic mange from my Momma but that was treated and no issue since.  You’ll get all of my vet documents when you pick me up.

I currently live with 3 children and I really like those small humans. I also currently live with two older dogs (80 lb boxer male and 40 lb terrier female) and I love them both!  I’d love a running/playing canine partner but would like to meet them first to make sure they like me (but I’m really likeable…I just can play hard sometimes when I get excited).  My time at the dog park is super fun – I love to socialize and since I’m super cute, other dogs seem to like me too.  I haven’t met a cat yet, so don’t know about those…

I’m very smart and am crate-trained and sleep in my crate at nighttime. If you leave the house, you’ll need to crate me (with a super good treat so I know the crate is my good place) and then I won’t get into trouble while you’re gone. I’m also house-trained, play fetch like a pro and hunt chipmunks like you’ve never seen.

I am looking for a home with a tall fenced yard (6+ ft) since I’ve been known to jump my current 4 ft fence to see what fun stuff is on the other side.  A family that will play fetch with me is a must.  Trees and/or bushes in my fenced yard are a big plus so there are creatures to hunt.  And hey, if you’re willing to teach me to hunt bigger things than chipmunks, that would be awesome – although there’s no guarantee I’d be good at it, but boy would it be fun to try.

And finally, I would really love a family that loves me, lets me cuddle with them at night, and let’s me RUN RUN RUN to get all my pointer energy out – it’s my FAV thing to do!

Ruger - AL

8/29/2021

Mandatory for Ruger’s new home:  NO small children or other dog

Picture
Hi Y’all, I’m Ruger but some people call me Boogie.  I’m 5 years old (born on June 26th), healthy and up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped, neutered, currently in Mobile, AL and I’ve been told I’m an amazing dog and such a sweetheart.

I’m a big boy, am FULL of energy and require a lot of attention (and deserve it  ) and I’m looking for a new home without small humans. Although little humans are fine, I now have two tiny humans in the house and, well, they make me nervous – all that running around and grabbing things is a bit exhausting (actually, a LOT exhausting) plus I’m BIG, so it’s easy to accidentally knock them over.  So, I would prefer a home with no little humans.  Don’t get me wrong – I LOVE humans but prefer the ones that respect my boundaries.

So I’m sure you can see that I’m handsome, but I’m also sweet, cuddly and loving like all GSPs. The ladies love me.  But I’ll be honest, sometimes my canine sister annoys me…she’s 11 and slower than me and getting weak, so I’ll show her who’s boss and growl.  For my forever home I’d prefer to be the only dog so I can be spoiled rotten, not have to share your love and I don’t have to share my toys and bed.

I’m house-trained, healthy, super smart and know basic commands (sit, stay, shake, lay down and even unlock deadbolt doors – yikes!), but don’t put me in a crate – they freak me out. And not sure about you, but those recent storms were pretty scary too.  When there are loud noises I prefer to be in a safe place with my humans to keep me calm (fyi, vacuums are horrific monsters).  My doctor put me on some medications to help with that anxiety so I will need to continue with my medicine.

I’ve never been around cats so a meeting first would be wise.  I also like to eat alone (boy, I sound like a picky pup, but hey, everyone has their quirks) and I LOVE LOVE LOVE tennis balls (and oddly, I’ll even share them with my canine sister)! My ideal humans would throw them for me to chase all day long, every day!

I’ve also never been around small dogs. I’d love a family that will introduce me (slowly and carefully) to new experiences and animals – just going on adventures with you would be fun.  And I love humans so much I tend to jump when you get home, so a human that can remind me that isn’t good doggy behavior would be awesome.  I’m smart (did I say that already?) and want to learn new things all the time.

I’d love daily walks – I do pretty well on a training collar with my current male human but tend to take advantage of anyone weaker than him and will pull.  I also LOVE water!  If you have a pool or can take me to a lake I would be a super happy boy!  Even a water hose in the back yard is really fun and I love boat rides. I’ve had dock diving lessons when I lived in Texas – that was AWESOME so I’d love to do that again if possible!

And I’ll wrap this up with my desire to cuddle, snuggle, smoosh-up to you as often as you’ll let me. And I hope that’s a lot!  I currently sleep in bed under the covers with my humans but I allow them to use me as a body pillow in return.  I would like to continue that tradition with my new family.

My absolute needs are 1) someone that includes me on adventures, and throws tennis balls (a lot), 2) a fenced yard for me to run in and hunt squirrels, 3) someone that spends a lot of time with me and lets me express my lap-dog tendencies and cuddling skills and 4) gives me a comfy dog bed for daytime (inside) and a human bed to share at night. If you have a pool that is EXTRA SUPER SPECIAL to me!

If you think you’re perfect for me, please contact my current family so they can talk with you more about how wonderful I am. You can reach Bethanie at Bno1421@jagmail.southalabama.edu

P.S.  In order to know you’re serious about taking care of me forever, I am asking for a rehoming fee of $200.  Trust me, I’m worth it!
