An alumni update and thank you

Biz, Fritz, Cash, Willow, Dottie, Saban and Nova are all gathered here to share updates with you this week!

We also want to take a second to tell each of you thank you for voting in the calendar contest and submitting such great photos. It was a close race and we will be announcing the winners soon.

Happy Sunday and a great week to you all.

Dottie '19

Picture
We haven’t heard from 2019 Alumna Dottie in a couple years, but we see she is just as spoiled as the day she came to rescue and was fostered by the Sasser family.  Her forever mom Sherry says this is a typical nap pose for Dottie…poor girl LOL!

Dottie came to rescue with 5 other GSPs that ended up in a shelter in NC for not being good hunters: Lady, Harnett (who sadly passed away last year), Harvey, Hector (now North) and Haynes (now Glover).

Saban

From Saban's mom Christine, "I just wanted to update you all that Saban is an absolute doll and he’s adjusting to life with his new GSP sister, Piper. Although she’s a lot younger (and a little on the wild side), he keeps up with her and is very patient with her juvenile ways. I can’t say thank you enough for bringing this sweet guy into our lives!"

Nova

Picture
From Nova's mom Ellen:  Nova at high tide on Sullivan's Island.  A quiet moment before she took off to play in the surf...  Sh'es fascinated with the tidal pools and loves to run back and forth.

Fritz '20, Cash '21 and Willow '22

One of our longtime foster volunteers, Darrin, has some sad news that was tempered by some happy updates on 3 of the GSPs he fostered.  From Darrin:

It’s with sad news that our beloved senior crossed the rainbow bridge a few days ago. Although he didn’t come from SEGSP, he was a rescue from Kansas and he is the reason we started fostering. Remmi was the perfect foster brother for many of the rescues, Fritz, Cash, and Willow. Along with some others that didn’t stay as long, Colby, Archie, Fergie. On to some happier news I have alumni updates on 3 of the dogs that Darrin fostered:

Fritz (2020 alum) is loving his dual state living situation. It’s about the time of year when he comes back to SC from CO. He enjoys all the freedom and adventures out west, then gets to kick up his feet for the rest of the year.

Cash (2021 alum) is doing awesome in the mountains. Last year he saw his first snow. He is still living the puppy GSP life. The entire family adores him.

Willow (2022 alum) made the furthest trek to Alabama and had some adjustments to be made. She fits in like a glove and is so spoiled. You can’t help but to smile when her butt wiggles. She also lives the adventurous life of hikes, boat rides, and ATV runs.

Biz '10

Picture
Our 2010 alumnus Biz (aka Biscuit, Bizzy) just turned 15!  From his mom Kate, “He can’t hear much at all and doesn’t see well but he still dashes to guard the fence line to warn us of all passing dangers - trucks, bikes and butterflies! He‘s not eating much anymore and I worry if this means the end is near.  As much trouble as he has been in the past, he has wrapped his soul about my heart and I shall be “undone” when he leaves. He and new hubby, Doug, are special pals.

Keep those updates coming! Send a photo and short update to segspalumninews@gmail.com. We can't wait to hear from you!
