We've got some great alumni updates for you this week on some of our more recent alumni. Check out below what's happening with Hank '22, Bandit '20, Walker '22, and Jäeger '21, ! Hank '22Our recent alum Hank is doing very well according to his new dad David. From David, “He is doing excellent! He is so happy living with us and goes everywhere with me. Thank you for choosing me. He is about as GSP as a GSP can be if you know what I mean. But he is really thriving in his new life. He goes to work with me each day and patrols the yard when we come home at night. I’ve never seen a dog that would rather run outside than get a treat. As long as he has his people and space to run, he is happy and behaves well. I’ve attached a couple of photos of him and want to thank SEGSP again for bringing him into our life.” Bandit '20 and Walker '22Check out alums Bandit 2020 and Walker 2022 who are doing amazing things these days. Bandit an already established Master Barn Hunter has now learned to Dock Dive which has to be his favorite thing ever. Right next to being a chewy.com model, he still loves to play dress up. Bandit earned his first dock diving title (DJ) in just five jumps, with a personal best of 14 feet 5 inches. Not too bad for a 7 year old. Bandit recently also earned a intermediate trick title (TKI) - Stealing Hearts Like A Bandit - CGC TKI ATT RATI RATS DJ Walker in his short six months since adoption has earned his AKC Canine Good Citizen Title (CGC), passed the AKC Temperment Test which is also a title (ATT), earned his Novice Trick Title (TKN), learned to Barn Hunt adding a Novice Title (RATN), and also continuing agility and dock diving training. He is a busy boy which is best for that puppy brain of his. - Walker's 2 Fast 2 Furious CGC TKN ATT RATI RATN Both boys will be featured in an upcoming coffee table book "Tails of the Treasure Coast". The book is being produced by a local photographer as a fundraising effort for a local rescue. Jäeger '21From the Kurilla Family: "We just hit one year with our sweet Jäeger, and he is such a joy! He loves running around playing with his GSP brother Jax, and his Catahoula sister Kahlua. He has so much energy, and if you even say the B word (ball) he goes INSANE. We are so incredibly grateful for you all bringing him into our lives. We couldn’t imagine our lives without him making us laugh, constantly. Here are some pictures of him this past year! Thank you all again for ALL you do!" Thank you for continuing to send us updates! We LOVE hearing from you.

This month we celebrate 8 different pups and their one year gotcha anniversaries! Help us congratulate Willow, Minnie Pearl, Tucker, Jager, Maya, Sonny and Samuel on a year with their families. Check out the pictures of the fun they are having below. We need YOU! We are running low on alumni updates... please flood our inbox. Hearing stories and seeing pictures helps drive the rescue volunteers.
We have two lovely updates for you this week for Sunday Alum Day. Check out Edith story. She was one of our originals. And a super cute photo of Blue with a quick update. Both are doing great! EdithThis is Edith. She was one of the originals, a foster with founder Beth Cochran way back when. From her mom, Sue, "We believe she is now 14 years old. Edith was a true feral huntress found running loose in Tennessee. When outside, there was no controlling her. Not one, no-pulling apparatus ever worked, ever. Edith still, will pull to this day, if allowed. She was terrified of everything, everyone and hated loud noises. She was around 1 1/2-2 yrs old with at least a litter of puppies under her belt. David and I realized quickly that Edith was not going to be your typical pet material, and after making a few strides with her, my husband decided to my dismay, that we should keep her. I used to keep an upholstery needle and a spool of thread in my car because she would silently chew through my seatbelts. I had to replace the visor, two head rests, the steering wheel and the back of one seat. To be fair it was a 20 year old car, but still. I’m embarrassed to say, had not discovered putting a kennel in the car and putting the dog in it. She has howled and cried her way to every hike for years. Edith has taken a leap off one cliff and fallen off another. She has ruptured both of her Achilles at separate times. She is still hiking and did a thirteen miler last Sunday. Edith started “slowing” down last year. Not knowing these dogs stories, to me, is an opportunity to realize there is no point contemplating on what had happened to them 'before', but what we can do to make their lives better going forward, no matter how long it takes. Our Edith goes way back as far as alumni and in my opinion, should have an award as one of the craziest pointer ever." Blue '20Blue, our 2020 alum, formerly Albert, is no longer the skinny, malnourished pup he was when he arrived in rescue. He came to rescue as a stray in MS that was heartworm positive and soooo skinny. We’re so thankful his mom Missy has put some pounds on him... and that she shared this adorable photo with us! We've got tons of alumni updates today for Sunday Alum Day! Check out what Tucker, Belle, Chick, Grace, Scout and Samantha have all been up too!Tucker '20Tucker's mom sent in this photo and captioned it, "When there’s so much to keep an eye on that you have to rest while doing it!" Looking good Tucker! Grace '20 and Chick '21Grace (2020 alum) and Chick (2021 alum) LOVE their adventures. They go cruising in the convertible and for long walks on the beach. Rumor has it that their Mom, Cindy, also makes them special 'treats' to eat each day too. Sounds like they have hit the jackpot life in Florida! Belle '16Belle (2016 alum) is living her best life with her Mom Debby. "She was adopted from rescue at age 2 and is nows almost 8 yrs old. But not slowing down … she loves her grandkids & playmate dogs. She enjoys lake trail runs & wildlife watching as an avid lizard & butterfly hunter. She’s absolutely the sweetest!" Samantha '172017 Alumni Samantha (formerly OSHA) and her sister Talluhlah had a Fall photo shoot recently. Check out this adorable photo! Scout '17Scout '17 (formerly Onyx) loves to nap. His mom, Taylor, captioned this photo, "If this picture had sound it would be really loud snoring!" Thanks for another great week in rescue! Keep the updates coming. We love seeing (and hearing) about our alumni!
What a week it has been. Our thoughts and prayers are with those in Florida that were hit the hardest by Hurricane Ian. But we know North and South Carolina are also struggling. We hope everyone is safe. GunnerGunner (formerly Gunny), 2019 alumnus, is doing great and loving life with his sister Jessie. When Gunner arrived in rescue, he had never been in a house played with a tennis ball or chewed on a bone. Looks like those days are LONG behind him now. PeachesPeaches, our senior gal from FL, is loving her forever home with the Sadauskas Family! They wrote in recently to say, "Peaches is having a good time. She just wanted to say hello and thanks for taking care of me before I found my final home." DaisyDaisy is a 2018 alumnae that foster failed with the Quarles family. And what a great 'fail' it has been. According to Dad Drew, "I’m forever grateful she found us through SEGSP. She’s ten soon and recently diagnosed with Cushings which she’s had for years but we could never quite pinpoint it. She’s much better with her meds to keep it under control but we just love her so much." Stay strong Daisy! That's a wrap for this week! We hope you enjoyed todays edition of Sunday Alum Day. We will be back next week with more updates.
