Olaf has found it – his forever home! A big thank you to Cord and Kelly for fostering Olaf for months. And thank you to Vicki who fostered Olaf for several months as well and also found his forever home. Vicki sent this to us:
“Happy tears are the best kind of tears. Sweet Olaf you are one of the most special boys I’ve ever met and the true definition of an old country porch sitting farm dog. I know you have been through hell and have faced more rejection than any dog should ever have to face, more heartbreak than a human could even stand but yet here you are standing with your new mom and dad with the biggest goofiest smile on your face. Things happen for a reason sweet boy, all those broken roads led you to Cynthia and Pete and a life on a farm surrounded by 800 acres of land, woods and ponds to swim in. You take all the training I’ve taught you and you go be the best dog you can be. I told you the day I met you that I would never give up on you and no matter where you go this will always be true. Your new family and I will become best of friends just so we can help each other give you the life you deserve. Your new mom is funny like Miss Vicki and made me laugh out loud when she said if you were nine then she was only 32!! I know they are the right family for you and I promise you are in the best hands, I mean look at how they look at you and your dad is already asking if it’s ok to share his cheese with you. Now you be a good boy and enjoy your ride to your new homes, and yes you have two homes you little spoiled boy. Miss Vicki loves you and will always have a place for you in my home but clearly you won’t need it! I love your new family and can’t wait to be friends with them and see all your beautiful pictures and adventure you go on. This is not goodbye old man, it’s until I see you again. I love you with all my heart Olaf and please know that will never change.” Congrats Cynthia, Pete and Olaf! We have great news! Pudding, now Remi is off with her new family, Denise and Roger in TN
From her foster mom, “I met them earlier today and they are back in Nashville already. I miss this sweet little girl a ton already but I know Denise and Roger are going to give her a great home. Here is a picture I got today of them with her.” Enjoy your forever home little girl! Charlie has done it – he’s made up his mind that he will be staying with his foster (now forever) family.
Charlie had been found abandoned at an apartment complex pool area with a wound on his hip. His life may have started out sad, but he is going to have an amazing life going forward. YAY Charlie and congrats to Jesse and Victoria! Bingo, now Greta, is officially now in Mississippi with her forever family Stephanie, Philip and her new human brother. She even has a pup sister named Callie that she adores!
Bingo came to rescue at 10-weeks-old with kennel cough, worms and she was underweight. Not a great beginning, but she is now healthy and quite happy with an awesome forever home. Congrats everyone! Bluey, now Luna, is HOME with her new mom and dad Morgan and Brandon and puppy brother Jacques in Georgia! She’s already feeling right at home and enjoying playing with her new brother.
A HUGE thank you to Bluey’s foster mom Katie for preparing her for this day. Congrats everyone! Goose has found his home! His foster mom Vicki sent us this beautiful note:
“The tears that run down my face as I leave this sweet boy with his amazing new dad Matt are nothing but pure joyful tears. Goose has had a tough road battling stomach issues and anxiety but had overcome all of that before he started his journey looking for his forever home. Once he was ready and his adoption went live things were so slow with zero interest but we waited patiently and I’m so glad we did. Matt has been around GSPs most of his life so I knew he would absolutely understand Goose’s energy level and silly quirks. He is also a runner and a very active gentleman which was also a win for Goose because this boy likes to be on the go. When we did the home visit yesterday and I saw the smile on Matt’s face as he walked up to Goose and Goose immediately pulled me towards him I knew these two were going to be one hell of a pair. Watch out Charlotte because these two will be turning heads as they walk down the city streets. When we got inside Matt’s home and I saw he already went shopping for Goose and got him everything he could possibly need and want, a smile crossed my face, this was a man that really wanted a dog to share his life with. Goose however immediately disowned me and when I gave a command he looked to Matt for confirmation, when I told him to walk with, he listened but walked with Matt instead of me. I always knew Goose preferred men over women, it happens, but damn sweet boy I’ve been taking care of you for months, give a girl some attention! Seriously though this is why I volunteer, seeing the reaction when the perfect human meets the perfect dog is the most rewarding and heartwarming thing in this entire world. Don’t worry sweet Goose, I’m not crying because you are staying, I’m crying because you are finally home where you belong, where you will be loved, where you are the only dog, where you will get all the love you have so deserved. Enjoy your new city life sweet boy and we will see each other again because daddy said you get to come on vacations at my house. The Goose has flown Uptown folks, and he plans to nest there for the rest of his long life!” Congrats Goose and Matt! And thank you Vicki for all you've done for Goose - he is a very lucky boy! Hammy (now Goose) has found his forever home with his foster family! YAY Goose!
His forever mom Rachael said, “He enjoys lake days, long boat rides and loves everyone! We are so excited for him to join our family.” Congrats everyone – it’s a very happy day! Cary, is now Coco, and is staying with her foster, now forever, family! Her mom Tiffany says, “Her personality has blossomed, and she is sweet, attentive, and very playful. We have fallen in love and decided to adopt her into our pack.”
Congrats Coco, Tiffany, Richard and their family! Louie is now Ryder! Yeah, you heard us correctly – Louie has found his forever home with his mom Lorraine. Lorraine comes to rescue with tons of GSP experience and great references from several GSPCA members. She is an avid obedience competitor, highly ranked in the National system in prior years. WOW, we can’t wait to see what Louie learns with Lorraine!
Lorraine said, “I have to say I couldn’t have been more pleased with the adoption of Louie. He amazes me how well behaved he is. His foster mom Keleigh did a great job of offering him a welcoming home and friendly environment while he was fostered. For a young dog, he knows his basic commands and is crate and potty trained, which is a huge plus. He’s a very happy boy, loves playing with his toys, retrieving a ball and he absorbs continuing training with ease. With each new introduction of an environment, he shows total confidence. I know this will be one outstanding GSP. Louie fits right into my home life, as if he’s lived with me for years. I’m very grateful for all the hard work that Southeast German Shorthaired Pointer Rescue offers, protecting and preserving this wonderfully versatile breed.” Congratulations Ryder and Lorraine! And thank you Keleigh for finding Ryder such a great home. Happy Sunday Alum Day! We’ve got another newbie to share.
Moses has found his forever home, right where he is! He came into rescue a little over 6 weeks ago and per Shelley he is a part of the family and they can’t imagine life without him. Moses has been enjoying all the adventures and loving from the Vandiford family and the pictures are worth 1000 words. Congratulations and welcome to the foster fail club! |
