Freya, now Coco (solid liver), had visions of sugarplums (and her forever family) dancing in her head… She asked Santa if she can stay with her foster family forever and guess what…she got what she asked for! Coco had an AWESOME Christmas because she is HOME! FOREVER with the Templeton family.
Congrats Coco and her entire family! #CocoIsHome #GSPforever #GSPlove Congrats to Coco Reagan (left)– she is HOME. FOREVER! She came to rescue at 10 weeks old with her siblings Bingo and Bluey. Her foster mom Kelly did an awesome job helping her along her rescue journey and found just the right “fit” in a forever home for this pretty girl. And she now has a new sibling, Lucky. Thank you, Kelly, and congratulations to Coco and her new mom Lacey-Ann!
Big Chuck has decided he is not going anywhere – he is HOME! Who can blame him…he’s been spoiled (e.g., fluffy pillows and beds), loved and has learned lots of new stuff. He’s super happy! Congratulations to Chuck and his foster-now-forever family with Moni and Keith!
Rocky has made it to his forever home! His new mom Carly drove up from GA to NC to pick up Rocky. He will have 600 acres in South GA and a smaller property in north GA as well as an older brother named Bentley plus several cousin doggos.
His foster mom Gari said “We are really happy for him! Thank you for all you do!” We are so thankful that Gari was able to foster Rocky. Thank you Gari for helping him along his path in life. Congrats everyone! Maverick is on his way to TN with his new family. It was a perfect match! His foster mom Vicki sent him a letter…
Dear Maverick, I’ve been dreading this day since the day your post went live for adoption. I’ve been filled with dread and anxiety over how I was ever going to let you go. You have been with me for so long and have become best friends with Fatty McFatterson making this process even harder. You are absolutely the perfect GSP, and you stole my heart, and you became part of my soul. I made the tough decision to let you go and today that decision became a reality and I’ve cried for four days because of it. When we arrived at the meeting place to meet your new family, I was angry, sad and heartbroken, but then a beautiful teary-eyed lady got out of the car bawling her eyes out at the sight of you and all my anger and doubt went out the window with one hug from your new mom Arissa. I cried, she cried, and I knew with every inch of my being you belonged with Arissa and Aaron. This is not goodbye my sweet boy, I know I will see you again. If not in person, then through the thousands of photos your mom Arissa will send me because guess what Mav, you got a new mom that’s as crazy about pictures as I am. You are going to be so spoiled little boy so remember your manners and be a good boy and leave some of that sass that Fatty McFatterson taught you at the door. Enjoy your new family, my love and your new sister Bailey and please try not to pester her too much, she was there first. Congratulations to Arissa and Aaron on the adoption, you truly got a Christmas Miracle with this boy, there will never be another Maverick and I’m ok with that because I will love him from afar for the rest of my life. Congrats to Maverick and his new family! When you bring a foster dog into your home, especially one who is sick or whose background is unknown, your first priority is to get him healthy. The healthier and stronger they get, the more comfortable they become, and the more their personality shines through. At that point, your job as a foster parent is to think about what he needs in a forever family. Then there’s a list of ‘would be nice to haves’ and even a list of ‘only in our wildest dreams.’
Well, drumroll please: Radley got adopted, and guess which ‘list’ he got?!?! We couldn’t imagine a more perfect fit for Radley. Heide and Hermann are veteran SEGSP adopters who recently lost their sweet Penny (2014 alum). They understand from experience Rad’s food insecurity, training needs, and youthful antics. His foster mom, Jackie says, “When Heide and I first connected, I didn’t realize she was hoping to eventually adopt him. I now know she was drawn to him for so many reasons, followed his journey, and without realizing the heavens (including Miss Penny) were shining down on us, we made introductions to be sure Pepper was ready to become a big sister and show her new brother the ropes to his happily ever after. When I picked him up, barely two hours out of the shelter, I knew he was a diamond in the rough. He already shines, but his new family is going to truly help him sparkle. To give a dog a second chance while helping heal someone’s heart, and starting a wonderful friendship is just…priceless. I already miss him, but I am thrilled to see this little man off to live his best life!” Thank you, Jackie, for all you did for Radley - congrats to everyone! Queenie has a couple of things to say. She has found her forever family and while she still wants to be treated like a queen, she’s now going to go by Bailey. Her foster family chose the perfect home for her with the Morrows. And to say they are smitten is an understatement! Her new mom said, “We renamed her “Bailey” and she is perfect!!! I’ve had a GSP named Shadow who we also rescued and he lived to be 17! We wanted another after the recent loss of our other dog and because our 99 lb black lab Luke was profoundly lonely. After watching Queenie/Bailey’s video on Facebook of her headbutting like a goat, I knew she was the one! We had applied for others, but secretly hoped we could have her; liver-colored, curious, even temperament, and using her head for attention, she was the perfect combination of personality with buckets of love
We love her Velcro nature and she transitioned beautifully - despite a 10-hour drive back home. She is a great traveler, super smart, and although she’s had some upheavals, she’s one of the most alert, loving, and affectionate dogs. Clearly her foster mom, Ellen was instrumental in giving her the safety and security she needed in order to make her transition/adoption go so smoothly. The one thing we are working through is her “schedule” … she is an alarm clock, promptly waking at 6:50am EST every morning! No sleeping in with this girl!” It sounds like Queenie has landed exactly where she is supposed to be. Thank you to the Haynes family for loving her through foster and finding the perfect spot for her. (Foster mom, Ellen is on the left in the pic.” Congratulations, Bailey, we are so happy for you!! Axel has done it – he has found his forever home! His foster mom Anna said, “Feeling super good about Axel’s new home. He is going to be very loved. Thanks for everything through the process, and the opportunity to foster! No greater feeling than knowing you found a good home for such a deserving dog.”
THANK YOU, Anna! And congratulations to Axel and the Standish family. |
