ADOPTED

Daisy

4/28/2023

On this Sunday Alum Day we bring to you a brand new alum!

Daisy has made it to her forever home and she’s loving life there.  Her new mom said, “Daisy is doing really well. She has acclimated from apartment to her new home, without any issues, sleeps in the crate, although my daughter has spoiled her somewhat allowing her to nap on the bed.

She’s walking perfectly fine with the harness.  We take long daily walks in the morning and generally in the evening and then of course a couple of times during the afternoon we go for some quick walks too, but she is doing good with her surroundings.

She is quite friendly with neighbors, and even other animals that obviously have been on leashes, barked a couple of times, but has made no attempt to go towards them. As far as people, she is gentle, kind of sniffs, and then just turns away, there’s been no nervousness around them or anything like that she’s just curious.

I wasn’t really planning to apply to adopt right now, but then I came upon the rescue page just by happenstance and saw Daisy, and for some reason she just popped off the page at me.  I could not stop thinking about her.  It was as if I had been found by Daisy rather than her, by me.

And then, when I had the interview with Sarah and Joe, her foster parents, it was like talking to people that I had known forever.  Seeing her, even though it was a FaceTime call, she was just the sweetest thing, and I just said at that point I hoped  and prayed, honestly, that they would choose me.  Then the home visit happened and the next thing I knew I’d get the text and email congratulating me that I had been chosen for Daisy’s new home!

And it was the best day. Knowing that she was coming to Greenville, knowing that she was coming home to me. Because she is the best and has just been the sweetest and the most loving creature to enter my space right now.

So thank you for choosing me to be her forever home”

Kim, thank YOU for choosing SEGSP.   And thank you so much to the Kesslers for being amazing foster parents to this sweet girl.  Congrats all around!
