Maverick (aka Kyle)

​Maverick is on his way to TN with his new family. It was a perfect match!  His foster mom Vicki sent him a letter…

Dear Maverick, I’ve been dreading this day since the day your post went live for adoption. I’ve been filled with dread and anxiety over how I was ever going to let you go. You have been with me for so long and have become best friends with Fatty McFatterson making this process even harder. You are absolutely the perfect GSP, and you stole my heart, and you became part of my soul. I made the tough decision to let you go and today that decision became a reality and I’ve cried for four days because of it. When we arrived at the meeting place to meet your new family, I was angry, sad and heartbroken, but then a beautiful teary-eyed lady got out of the car bawling her eyes out at the sight of you and all my anger and doubt went out the window with one hug from your new mom Arissa. I cried, she cried, and I knew with every inch of my being you belonged with Arissa and Aaron. This is not goodbye my sweet boy, I know I will see you again. If not in person, then through the thousands of photos your mom Arissa will send me because guess what Mav, you got a new mom that’s as crazy about pictures as I am.  You are going to be so spoiled little boy so remember your manners and be a good boy and leave some of that sass that Fatty McFatterson taught you at the door. Enjoy your new family, my love and your new sister Bailey and please try not to pester her too much, she was there first. Congratulations to Arissa and Aaron on the adoption, you truly got a Christmas Miracle with this boy, there will never be another Maverick and I’m ok with that because I will love him from afar for the rest of my life.
