Radley

​When you bring a foster dog into your home, especially one who is sick or whose background is unknown, your first priority is to get him healthy. The healthier and stronger they get, the more comfortable they become, and the more their personality shines through. At that point, your job as a foster parent is to think about what he needs in a forever family. Then there’s a list of ‘would be nice to haves’ and even a list of ‘only in our wildest dreams.’

Well, drumroll please: Radley got adopted, and guess which ‘list’ he got?!?!  We couldn’t imagine a more perfect fit for Radley. Heide and Hermann are veteran SEGSP adopters who recently lost their sweet Penny (2014 alum). They understand from experience Rad’s food insecurity, training needs, and youthful antics.

His foster mom, Jackie says, “When Heide and I first connected, I didn’t realize she was hoping to eventually adopt him. I now know she was drawn to him for so many reasons, followed his journey, and without realizing the heavens (including Miss Penny) were shining down on us, we made introductions to be sure Pepper was ready to become a big sister and show her new brother the ropes to his happily ever after.  When I picked him up, barely two hours out of the shelter, I knew he was a diamond in the rough. He already shines, but his new family is going to truly help him sparkle. To give a dog a second chance while helping heal someone’s heart, and starting a wonderful friendship is just…priceless. I already miss him, but I am thrilled to see this little man off to live his best life!”
