Winston has found his forever home and also a new name, Wilson! He’s come such a long way from a kill shelter with only days left to being a special part of his new family, the Lovells.
His new mom says, “We are so thrilled to have Winston, now Wilson, as a member of our family! He seems to be adjusting to us, and our routine quite well. He has joined sister, Rosie (three year old lab), and brother, Lester (14 year old lab/bulldog mix). He is definitely a mama’s boy.
We had a GSP mix, Rufus, who passed away a couple of years ago. We love the traits of the breed and that is what prompted us to search the Internet for GSP rescue dogs and came across SEGSP. We spotted the profile for little Winston (now Wilson) and fell in love. It did not take long before we were completing the application and going through the process to become his forever home. We express our sincere gratitude to everyone who made it possible to remove him from the kill shelter and transport him from there to his eventual foster family. He learned so much along the way! I promise everyone we will continue to teach him and do right by him.”
His mom is right…so many people helped Wilson along his journey to his forever home. From his transporters, to his temp fosters, Kerry and the Schaffers, to his long term foster, Dottie, we are forever grateful, and so is Wilson. Thank you all!
